Sorry if this topic has been made before but I am just curious as to how long a bike deck lasts. I always riffle shuffle mine quite a bit so it ususally lasts me about 3 weeks. Do you guys riffle shuffle alot or not really? I like a farelly worked in deck so i spring it quite a bit and all that stuff. However I am going through decks quite a bit I may have to ease up a bit lol.

What do you do with your used up decks?

I usually use them for signing decks and a deck i dont care about lol. So I can do anything like use them to practice my mercury card folding or something like that. However I have so many decks now alot of them just sit there lol. I have so many up opened tally ho decks and a bunch of bikes. Im bad for buying a ton of decks and they just sit there for ever.

On similar lines, how do you peeps keep decks in order, you know; new,nice,old and finished. x

I can use mine for up to a month, maybe a little less. But, after a week of performing and practicing with them the become very rough, discoloured and make moves like DL hard to get right. I usualy shange to a new deck after about 1 1/2 weeks.

I change deck about once a week. After that time they are pretty grubby looking. And have become "soft" from springing,riffling ect.

Also the deck seems to be larger (as though there was an extra few cards) too.

If I'm sitting down to a session, I always wash my hands beforehand to keep the grease out of the fibres along the edges. I keep going back to old decks too, to make sure I can still handle manky old ones.

Mine usually last 4-6 weeks. Make sure you always wash your hands before performing with cards and whenever you do a tabled riffle shufle just let the cards fall off of your fingers

I do that too. but then i have to deal with those damm filthy spectators. Is it just me or is it wrong to ask them to wash before selecting a card?

Something that I have found that keeps your cards lasting longer,

DON'T DROP THEM ON THE FLOOR!

They pick up bits of dirt and carpet and get wrecked easily.

Ya its funny i can riffle shuffle my cards all the time and spring them and they are still fresh because I keep my hands clean. But as soon as a spectator grabs my cards and shuffles them and then gives them back they are all sticky and grubby looking. Like what the hell lol.

And I always keep the old ones anyway for practice decks...
If you can DL or do the pass with a grubby old packet, you can certainly do it with a fresh one

depends how much i am working, i like ot do alot of tricks that require marking cards and ripping cards so two weeks max and when the deck has finally gotten too low i just create a pile of used up cards and use them for practice or make another deck that i take with me if i go for drinks with friends, its normally simple, impromptu tricks with them anyways and i can keep my fresh good cards for the money making tricks

If you have a deck that is begining to feel a bit dirty, one thing you might try is putting it in the fridge for half an hour. If it's not too dirty, this tends to sharpen up its handling again for a while.
