Well, heres my first vid.
Its a combination of things I just put together. I ask you not to analyse every last detail, but rather to switch off your magic brain and enjoy it. Think of it as just a magical treat. Its not perfect, but was a good finish to many rehearsals.

Enjoy!

ok alot of things I have to say! lets start with the music, You can add it using windows Movie maker no need for that radio it just messed it up.
two work your hands better and faster Especially at ll these fake cuts and Forces you almost gave them away
3) Find someone to help you record the Trick because that way youll look better.
4) get a spectator (even if its your friend...)
5) Great Work :D
and thats all Nice one
I liked it

Thanks for the advice, bud.

Yeh, I kinda screwed up on one of the cuts, but I dont think a spectator would see this as being important to the effect when it happened.
I added the radio as I thought it was a nice touch. I would have happily put music on afterwards but I thought it added a little humour to the presentation, even if it was very subtle.
I would've used a spectator but I didn't see it as essential in this display, and i doubt anyone would've endured the long hard rehearsals.
I've been meaning to cut my hair for a while, but don't worry, I'll soon have it all cut off, for you.

Wasn't too bad actually.
It took me a few watches to figure out what u did but I got there in the end (I think  )

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Sorry, but I cant stand you complaining about stuff here.
1. No, the music didnt mess anything up.
2. Yeah he did em a bit too slow, but they were fine.
3. What's wrong with his haircut? You like Criss Angel, allthough he also has long hair.
4. Pfft, almost all of your own tricks arent recorder by someone, so dont whine.
5. And also, almost all of your own videos dont have a spectator either.

And I have plenty of more things to complain about you, but I just wont, cause im not perfect either.

I mean, yeah, fixing eachothers mistakes here is welcome, but only if you do it right.

ONTOPIC: The trick was fine, tho I think it would look better if you would use a blue card instead of that red one. ;)

I thought that was a Job well done buddy, well done with the first video!

Whats all this about hair cuts? ... I've been away for a while please dont tell me the boards have fallen apart since then, not been invaded by the youngsters from penguin have we? lol

Last time i checked personal attacks were'nt the done thing, if you could make your critisim less personal it would be appreciated ... its not just the person you point that critisim at that gets offended by comments like that.

But, back to the topic, and back to Ouch ... a Job well done buddy, first video's are always a difficult commitment, it wasnt so long ago that i did mine, so well done *pats on the back*

Aaaaaah, feels good to be back *stretches arms, rocks back in chair with a satisfied grin on his face*

Very good effect, very strong effect you choose for your first vid. Only a couple of things:
Dai Vernon says: when you need to force a card, (4 example the ace of diamond), and to do the force you must translate the ace from the top to the center of the pack.. never use a cut to do it... use a pass (classic, riffle, dribble, anykind of pass) but never a cut. If Dai says that.... must be true, right? XD
You must work your tenkai palm, in a moment you can see it in your right hand, and is just before you take the envelope.
The speed you choose to make this game is perfect, is very important to the spectator remember the initial situation, is you do it a little bit faster maybe the spectator can´t remember very well. Otherwise if you do it a little bit slower you must create a fading of the emotional memory, and in that moment all the effect fails. So, very good selection, very well done, congratulations dude (sorry 4 my english, i´m southamerican)
Bye guys

I agree, the tenkai is visible in the hand (maybe not to laymen) but when you take the envelope with your right hand the card is visible. And I don't get the effect because the same signatured card coul really be in the envelope. But that's just me. Nice card handling... a bit too slow.Keep un with the good work.

Very nice ouch (can I call you that?)! Overall a very good effect and I'm sure you'll get great reactions from it ;). I have a few comments, minor but there you are. I seem to have written rather a lot, but don't worry, it's mostly puff.

There was a flash of the palm. I guess that's probably because of the angle in which case there's nothing to worry about, and a spectator almost certainly wouldn't notice it anyway, but I've pointed it out.

John Bannon makes the point in Smoke and Mirrors that it's not a good idea to introduce a prediction early in an effect as that turns the rest of the effect into a 'challenge' - "I know that that prediction is going to be my card so I am just going to see how he does it". The fix for that would be either to introduce a sealed envelope, without saying that there is a card in it, before you start, or else to introduce the red prediction after the card is selected and signed.

The selection and return to the pack was slightly fishy. I would recommend a spread cull force (which also has another feature that is good for this effect) and a spread cull, or something similar as that looks much more natural. There wasn't really much reason to take the card out, shuffle the pack, and put it back in again. EDIT: Actually, now I think about it there was as it was a nice convincer - still, it doesn't look natural. How about a glide from the face of the top half? (Or how about a bottom slip cut force plus an Elliot control (if you have no idea what I'm talking about PM me ;)))?

Anyway, once again those points are really minor. I'm just nitpicking because I feel in a verbose mood .

How? Not if that were a spectator's signature, obviously...just because he has signed it himself doesn't mean that it won't work for a spectator.

I don't know if this would help - but I do a similar style effect (I don't use an envelope, but it's a "predicted" card becoming the signed card).

I agree with Kati, tabling the card, shuffling, then reinserting is a bit unusual. However, there's an easy way to set yourself up and make everything flow a bit more.

I don't want to expose portions of your effect without consent, so let me know if you'd rather I post my suggestion in pm or on here.

Overall, it's a strong effect. Great job!

Kati - That's quite a nice bit of wisdom from Mr. Bannon. It will certainly make me rethink some prediction-style effects.
