Hugely improved bill switch

Postby EckoZero » Apr 25th, '06, 01:46

Lights! Woo! Working lights :D

And sound... hence the dodgy patter :D

And no flashes this time I don't think Rune... correct me if I'm wrong of course.

Here we go

http://media.putfile.com/bill-switch-thing

All usual feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

(by the way, the "con" mentioned in the patter is actually something we were warned about at my workplace. We work n a petrol station, and apparently someone had been coming in and filling up with £10/£20 of petrol and then sticking a tightly folded note on the counter and walking off... and the name Jay, obviously references the great Jay Sankey :D )

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Yeah I liek it! I don't know how to do this so I don't know what I'm looking for. But from a lay perspective (me in this case!) I saw nothing wierd. I liked your story too.

You could do with showing your hands empty at the start a bit more though maybe?

Thanks :D As mentioned the story is kind of true.
I thought it fitted in quite nicely with the idea of a note that changes value...

Yeah, damn those empty hand moves.

I'm used to performing to people not cameras, so I don't tend to show my hands for tricks, because people can see them anyway. It's the first thing people look at when I start a trick.

There's an empty hand move I could have done at the end as well... but I forgot :(

Oh well. Next time I do a video I'll try to remember to show my hands more lol

Thank you Durto :D

I have a very British accent. It's kind of similar to the stereotypical movie accents...

But thanks for the feedback guys. I do this to everyone who asks to see a trick now as a matter of course. And I've only been practicing it for a few days now. Good reactions so far from laymen, and now from magicians too :D

Much better than the original. Story was nice also.

Saw nothing suss. :) Maybe just mid way when your hand dropped. Who knows what kind of sussy stuff you could have done then.

But nevertheless, it's a video and restricted view. So no comment there. :)

And I guess I'll be like everyone else, loved the British accent. :)

lol Thanks dude :D

No I genuinely didn't mean to drop my hand out of shot there :(

Nothing suss went on I can tell you that much, thats also why I showed the hand empty AGAIN after dropping my hand lol.

Is this really the first video I've posted where I speak? :?
I thought foreigners hated the Brits as well :D

Glad they don't and that you all like my accent!

Yeah I actually came up with the story before I knew what a bill swithc was.
I wanted to do this trick... but I had no idea how.
Then i learnt the bill switch so now I can do my lovely Jay The Hustler trick :D

Nah. The British accent is cool. I mean, there are jokes about it. Just like the Indian accent. But otherwise, it's cool.

Dam... I wish I could do this... I give someone $50. Fold up the 50. Hand it to them. Walk away. They open it. It's a $5 note!

MHUAHAHAHAHA!

You should learn the $100 Bill Switch :D It's great fun and fairly easy once you have the hang of it. :D

I learnt mine off Jay Sankey's "No Card Tricks"
