Just Bought

Postby TopHouse » Apr 26th, '06, 18:50

Placed an order today at dudethatscoolmagic, have ordered :-

Coin Unique (just love that swirling glass routine)
Hummer Card (I just had to have one)
Golden Key (nice effect)
Colour Deception (another effect I love)

Got an email saying colour deception wasn't in stock but they'll send it on in a day or two. Also had my eye on the brass 'flying coins set' and the 'hypno paddle'. Does anyone have either of those two? What are they like?

Anyone got any tips for the stuff I've ordered? (pm's welcome)

Also had my eye on this :-

http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=4714

But have read conflicting reports. Think the haunted key might be another purchase soon as everyone seems to like it. I'm in a unique situation here having a pub as if i do a bit of table hopping, people love it. I've been mystifying them for ages with 'dynamic coins' I bought from the Marvins section at hamleys on a recent visit.

Any other suggestions for good, easy table hopping, close up routines would be welcome, I read discomans list of such stuff from a search but any others?

Another quickie, say I bought a haunted key, I'd like to do more with it after the effect. The thing that complicates things (or sometimes makes things more effective) is I'm a T/polo shirt kinda bloke.

I'm thinking raven type effect or maybe M5 or something similar. Is there anyone else who does more with the haunted key or 'enhances' it? ideas?

Well, my stuff came this morning, have to say first that I'm delighted with the level of service from 'dude that's cool magic'.

My 'unique' is a proper 'eddie' and I'm blown away with the quality, within 10 minutes of me openin my parcel I did the 'glass swirl' for my wife and one of my staff and blew them away! I would say to anyone who doesn't have this, GET IT, superb piece of kit.

My 'golden key' will take a little practice, I have to say I knew how this was done because of a sloppy product photo on a different suppliers site, what did surprise me was the gimick, I assumed it was a sleeve and not 'what it is' (owners of this trick will know what I mean) It will need a little practice but not a lot, and again I'd recommend it. Mine also came with a duplicate (haunted key) but I've already done my reading re gold & silver haunteds and I've got the wheels in motion for a silver one.

Not opened my hummer yet as I can't stop playing with my 'unique' for long enough!

I'd appreciate any tips re the unique if anyone has discovered anything. Also, has anyone thought of a way to combine the 'golden key' with it's duplicate in any routine?

I'm not sure whether these items are still available or indeed compatible with yours but check out an ancient Review posting from the Old Forum days - the link is http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic1206.p ... golden+key but the links to the products will be well out of date by now.

Yep, mine are the same setup as described in that one. I'd thought of that manoevre already, but I'm thinking there must be a killer combination with the two of them. Thinking cap I reckon ......

yeah, really get the silver version. It really is great :D A raven would work with it and definately an M5 (Or Mega Bertha off www.nothingupmysleeve.co.uk). I'd also like to link in some more effcts with it, i think making it vanish after would be great. Tophouse, i reccomend looking on eBay for the silver haunted key, you want to look at the items with a picture of a black case and in a dark sort of gold colour it sais 'HAUNETD KEY' and there is a hand with the key. It comes with 3 differnt lines of patter which are good. Did you say you have the gold version?

I'm in negotiations with siege at the mo as he's getting some in (silvers I mean) and in conjunction with some of his 'other stuff'.

Yes, the gold haunted came with my 'golden key' although I didn't order it, I'm not sure why I got it but I'm assuming that it's because the supplier didn't have everything I ordered and I'm still waiting for an item. Contrary to what other have written on here, and NEVER having attempted 'haunted' before, the problem I find with the golden version is it's TOO easy! due to weighting I find the bloody thing does it almost on it's own! (proper haunted key) but the thing is, I feel an examining spec would easily discover the same, killing the trick.

re raven, the thing is it's dependant on 'attire' I tried to give a clue in my first post.

Never used IT before and have been playing with my hummer card, after 5 minutes I had it going, hand to hand & levitating, but I have to say "HOW HARD IS THAT IT !!!!!"

Please someone tell me that the hummer IT is of a generally poor quality and tthe good stuff is easy

yep

ive got the hummer my self, the IT is extremely poor quality and scarce and yes it is easy, but you can get new ITS lol, cheap which are more reliable, even though its easy an in some cases obvious i reckon its still handy to have on you?
btw if you know how the hummer works, but dont own it, i wouldnt buy it, make your own lol ( this should prob be in the review section lol but o well )

Good quality IT recomendations? Possibly a dispenser?

Tophouse, i think all the haunted keys are like that, they are made for a certain size and (if you have they key, yu'll know what comes next) making it easier. If a spec picks it up and claims he/she can do it and tips there hand, even if it moves slowly point out quickly that it is obvious that they tilted there hand. If they still don't believe you, you can hold the key out and as it starts to turn tell the spec to hold the end of your fingers and underneath your hand to keep it still.

from what ive heard about them they can be noisy, shop around more stronger IT'S cos they vary quite a bit.( if anybody outside this forum reads this theyd think we were a nuthouse )
i personally stick to doing it as instructed with the hummer, its less obvious with out any possible noisy/bulky bits n pieces on you lol

The Gibsons are pure class - a quality piece of engineering and with him concentrating more on Euro's it's easy to see why earlier cons are becomming collectors items.

unfortunately the scammers seem to also recognise this and I've been caught out on a couple of occasions.

There are some very tidy effects with the coin unique £1/1p version with the application of a little thought.

I keep mine in my pocket with a lot of loose change and with the 1p on top of the face of the £1 . This is the only penny in the change so it's easy to seperate these two coins from the rest, making it look just like randomly selected coin. Get the spec to hold the other change and then perform. Practice to make the whole effect look natural and I find that it adds to the impact as the coins look like all of the others. The engineering is so good that you can hand out afterwards for inspection.

Remember not to spend it though!

My grandma was once given one as change in a supermarket.

Im not even kidding.

It came appart in her purse, and then she gave it to me :)

(I couldn't use it though, it wasn't strong enough to hold itself together well...)
