Dynamo's Estate of Mind

Postby Tomo » May 5th, '06, 16:56

From the Channel 4 advanced listings page for Thursday 11th May, 2006:

"Street magician Dynamo is emerging as one of the most exciting talents around with his stylish and energetic approach to magic influenced by underground poker clubs and incorporating hip-hop movement. This Comedy Lab sees Dynamo and Marcus (his best mate and cameraman) embarking on a 48-hour journey from their home town of Bradford to the bright lights of London, as Dynamo performs tricks in the infamous Delph Hill Estate where he grew up, his old school, and the youth clubs, bars and kebab shops where he first started performing his magic. Dynamo sets himself the challenge of blagging food, transport and access to night clubs and exclusive parties for the entire 48 hours with no money, using only his magic skills. Prod/ Dir: Rob Baker; Exec Prod: Simon Tucker; Prod Co: Zeal Television"

Sounds like fun. Much better than my "if this works then remember: big grin, clap handies, buy me beer..." schtick.

AGAIN, you Brits get all the good magic stuff on tv! You get a cool show like this, and what do we have?

David Blaine dozing off at the bottom of a fishtank.

Yippy...

I actually saw Dynamo yesterday in Davenports - London. Personally i really dont like his style at all, and he has yet to impress me technically - maybe this will change after seeing his special. However i do respect how hes managed to gain himself recognition and make it big. Hes certainly about to become loaded thats for sure.

i beg to differ

i also saw dynamo in davenports but this was on my second time there.

i was just starting out magic and my parents had to come along. i was asking the usual question
"I NEED A TRICK WHICH IS CHEAP AND WHICH AMAZES"
now dynamo must've been eves dropping because he walked up and started showing me some gambling routines.

the thing that amazed me was that when ibought how to do those tricks they needed some setup and he just walked up and preformed which i think is amazing

so I'm sorry to say but i think dynamo has style and is a trickster.

Dounds like an excellent program - cheers Tomo.

It might be better if it was someone a little bit less love or hate but still good idea.

Cheers,
