Postby MagicTom » May 12th, '06, 14:56

Hi guys,

Wondered where i can get hold of a "pouch!"

not a bum bag - a pouch!!!

If you could give me links etc

Oh btw - UK shops please!!

Thanks Guys,

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

lol Yeah I thought that too... but it says its a pouch that street performers use, so if i't swrong then I, or someone else, can go find a different link :D

I have too much time on my hands anyway, so I don't mind linking to the odd slightly wrong product.... gives me excuse to look for more stuff :D

The sort of thing Balloon Modellers use to carry their stock of rubbery thingies around might be more in keeping with a 'pouch'. A bit more Googling necesary, I'm afraid.

(One of these days I'm gonna figure out the format TM uses for text hyperlinking...)

hehehe

ok i caused a bit of confusion! Sorry.

It may be me being fussy - but the pouch i can see in my head that street magicians wear is different to a bum bag!

I think those Balloon pouches is more what i mean!

maybe its them that they use!

Sorry to be so fussy and complicated!

ToM!

Something I saw in a Make Magazine article, in order to carry around various tech gadgets, the person used police/military belt pouch system.

Example

The benifits are, you have your pouches filled with whatever in advance, and you put it on like a belt nice and quick. Some web seaching can reveal many forms of concealed pouch systems like those used by plainclothes police officers and the such.

Want to load different tricks? Switch out pouches with minimal effort. The modularity and portability are definite pluses, but not all of the systems are covert, which might be what you are looking for.

Just my two cents.

If it helps for googling purposes, apparently the pouch worn by olde street entertainers is called a gibeciere.

Accents should be on there, but google isn't fussy about that.

One of the peculiarities of language I suppose. One would have to be somewhat cautious talking about a fanny pack in England - although the usage has become more common these days due to film and cultural influences.

"bum bag" is often used.
