I am looking for some effects around sponge magic, but want some things that look good, not amateurish, if you get my meaning. Something a bit different that can possibly be used in a street magic environment.
Time for my weekly Pat Page spongeballs dvd endorsement!
Only a tenner, loads of stuff which could easily be adapted to a street setting, and it's really really good.
Kozak but out a pamphlet on sponge balls called the Master Routine with Sponges. Frank Garcia did as well but I forget the name of his book. Michael Finney also has nice work with sponges.
If you're after a nice easy introduction by a selection of world greats, check out Worlds Greatest Magicians Spongeballs DVD... pretty good, and makes a great start in the world of spongeball magic.
I quite like Jay Sankeys Earplugs Dvd as it is a beginners guide to spongeball type effects and is slightly different due to the sponges being shaped like big earplugs.
Sankey is an excellent teacher as well as being incredibly entertaining. I'm not hugely into the whole spongeball thing and my only frame of reference is the Earplugs Dvd but I thought it was pretty damn good
