My next "gig"

Postby Beardy » May 23rd, '06, 20:09

Well i am doing a wedding soon for some adults, and am thinking of what to do...

My opener normally is the classic force over and over again - combined with riffle, hindu, topsy-turvy e.t.c and really get the specs to laugh and enjoy thereselves.

Next it would normally be jokers wild, as everybody loves that trick ;)

I would then do such things as triumph e.t.c - depending on what takes my fancy...

I would then do a failed magic trick/gag in which I say to hold a red and black card in each of their hands (on one specific spec) and make them switch...and switch back again *every body laughs...I take their watch ;)*

As a closer it would normally be ID (If not already used if I screw up - though it hasn't resorted to that yet ;)) followed by a deck switch, false shuffle, and "Out of this world"!

That is pretty much my routine for table hopping, and am wondering what you guys think. It has worked well in the past, and am wondering whether you guys have any suggestions? I am goin to try and weave some sponge balls into there (all adults love them ;)) and magician's nightmare - I get wonderful reactions with that :P

Love

Chris

woops! I forgot to say...

as i leave the table i do the good old "who do you think reacted the best?"

*people don't know*

"whoever reacted the best gets a prize!"

"I did!"

*people laugh*

"You know what you get?"

"No..."

"Her watch" or if it is the same spec..."A brand new limited edition watch!"

people gasp, laugh, applaud, i move on, they thank me, I drop my buisness card, "You have been a wonderful audience..." e.t.c

I plan to nick the groom's watch and give to the best man, or nick the bride's watch and give it to the couple as a "wedding gift"...it depends what brands they have :P

can't do watch steal now but i use to do coin on shoulder for the prep then a i'll guess the date of your coin as an excuse to turn my back and load there watch on my rist.

later on i made it a three phase routine by doing the coin on shoulder a second time and used a watch n wear to load my watch on them. :D

cut and restored rope is a good one for the happy couple because you can talk about two souls getting spliced and the strugle for power as the knot is pushed this way and that till finaly they realised they don't need the excess bagage as ther actualy one whole being made from two halfs.

The problem with watch steals and such things are that you need to practice on a real person and you eed confidence but during practicing you're bound to get caught and watch steals are never that impressive when you get caught so confidence is knocked so you don't practce because there's no confidence.

BTW Chris can you steal all types of watche ie braclet ones as well
AND where did you learn it from?

Cheers,

yeah, but apparently it isn't very good. I have just got a new job as a sales-person, so as soon as I get my first couple of paychecks I might just have a look. Even if he doesn't teach well I can get a few ideas :S
