Smoke Bubbles...

Yeah, i seem to remember on the Paul Daniels magic show all those years ago, some guy with a huge moustache doing all kinds of interesting things with bubbles, square ones and so on...

i seem to remember him blowing smoke inside some too, so do you reckon or indeed, do you know if it will work with the stuff in the link?

Might look kinda nice, some kind of impromptu crystal ball type thing...especially if you make up a double-innards bottle if you catch my drift?

The link didn't work,
but if it is the magic bubbles, seeing as you breath through the wand/straw to make bubbles it should work if you have a mouth full of smoke.

It's TM's link encoding - all "&" are replaced by "&". Try this link instead!

I remember seeing a guy do this on the show 'Dirty Tricks'. He made the square one and then just used a straw to blow smoke into it. I don't know if he was using some kind of special solution, but I would just experiment and see what works with normal bubble stuff, if I were you.

I have witnessed the product in the link in action, and it pretty much does what it says on the tin. The bubbles will immediately pop if touched within about a second of being blown, but then they slightly harden. Note the word slightly. It hardens enough for a bubble to stay stuck on the ceiling for 10 minutes. But if you were to handle a hardened bubble it would pretty much instantly pop. And when it does pop, it leaves a small amount of sticky resin. Quite frustrating.

As I said before, play around with normal bubble mixture to see what you can do, or, make some of your own using some diluted washing-up liquid.

Oh, and a tip for blowing bubbles-
If you want them to last longer, try spraying the surrounding air with water, by using one of those spray-cleaners and just filling it with water.

Hope that helped.

If you want to make bubble solution stronger then just add some sugar  .

Thanks for the tip Mandrake! So what would be the best ratios to use for making up the solution? Im going to try and make some smoke bubbles!

I've never had a proper recipe as such but if you take a cup of water/washing up liquid mixture then one or two teaspoons of sugar should be enough. You might need to sue warm water so the sugar dissolves but it's what gives bubbles their strength - and probably leaves that annoying sticky residue!

...probably higly dangerous, but could you add in some kind of flash product to cause a mini-spark if lit?....

..im not asking anyone to conduct this experiment on my behalf, keep your flesh intact please....

...but if theres any badly disfigured half-burned magicians out there that have done it already, please let me know...

...would adding food colouring give you a different coloured bubble?
