In a recent thread a number of members debated the pro's and cons of practicing in front of a mirror.
Recording your performance onto video is in my opinion a much better way as you can then play back and watch for the tell tale bits that you need to improve upon.
I would recommend that you continue recording your effects but watch them over and over again in order to 'iron out' the overall performance. You need to be really harsh in judging yourself and only post when you are really happy with the WHOLE presentation of an effect, and not before.
If you're not happy then start over again.
I often think that the people that make it to the top are those that are very critical of themselves and they spot the blemishes that others wouldn't notice - and then they work on it some more.
