Pamphlet? PAMPHLET???????

I shall have you know that this is a literary masterpiece of the first magnitude. I am thinking that I might enter it as a submission for next years Booker Prize for world literature.

I will confess that it is not doing quite as well as the Harry Potter books but there is still time.

Go to www.marklewisentertainment.com and all will be revealed if you go to the "For Magicians Only" section. Although the book has my routine in it I consider that to be only a small part of the manuscript's value. It also has descriptions of the various moves of mine which have never been published before along with extra tricks plus wondrous anecdotes.

I suppose I shall have to wonder what this Nyman routine is all about and what is so wondrous about it. I bet it is just a load of ambitious card routinery and a bit of card changing as this is the usual fare I see which is touted as extraordinary.

It is NOT the Mark Lewis routine and is therefore must be inferior. I do not think in retrospect that any of my routine filtered down to the Nyman thing but I cannot be sure.

There are two videoclips available to be seen. One is where I am verbally abusing the verminous members of the public in the manner in which they richly deserve for not buying anything and one is the actual routine close up.

We shall see what mood I am in later. If there is sufficient grovelling I may consider posting the routine.

Actually let us do it this way. After the first person on this site purchases the book I shall post the clip.

You don't call me a svengali grafter for nothing....................

I may sound like an idiot here :( , but what are these svengali routines you guys are talking about. Man I havent used a svengali deck in ages haha. The only trick day I use these days is brainwave or ID. Maybe the very odd time I will use Mene tekel deck but that is very seldomly. SO anywho someone want to fill me in on this svengali routine, or is that giving away to much??

Dear Mr Lewis.

Many thanks for a reference that directed me to your webbed wide world place but alas and after minutes of drowsing - sorry, browsing I failed to find the two promised video clips.

Indeed I did find reference to your pamphlet, all be it a rather a 'padded out' reference piece that I may indeed purchase sometime soon, just to help you replace that dreadful tie. By the way, I noted the hand full of cards that you appear to have just picked up and should you require any assistance with putting them back in the right order then please feel free to PM me. It's all part of the TM service you know.

Anyway - back to the Svengali. What on earth are the other two 'chaps' enquiring about? It appears that neither is aware that there are routines associated with this legendary deck. Fancy that, a gimmicked deck of cards without a routine. They'll be creating routines for 'normal' decks soon if we don't watch out!

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about old chap. Perhaps you would care to translate.

I did not say that there were two videoclips on my website. I said that I had two videoclips available which I could post links to.

The tie you are referring to is the fault of Randy Wakeman and his magic circle lecture. I was watching it some years ago and I whispered to my neighbour ( I cannot remember who it was) "he dresses like a typical American trade show magician" The said neighbour replied in the usual cynical British manner "what? You mean a smart suit and a loud tie"

It then dawned upon me that all trade show magicians should wear a loud tie. So I do. However I only wear it at trade shows where I can be seen in the photo with all the cards you are referring to.

I do get the impression that you do not know much about magic therefore I must educate you on what I am doing with the cards. It is the magnetic cards using no props or gimmicks and is the creation of Edward Victor. It can be read about in one of his books.

I only use it for photographs although I confess I used it once to walk around a circus ring. Don't ask. It is a traumatic memory for me. Let us simply say all the acts had to walk around the ring in the grand finale. I couldn't juggle or walk on stilts so all I could think of doing was this bloody stupid magnetic card thing. I was walking behind an elephant at the time and I couldn't compete with the said pachyderm which got the bulk of the attention.

I have no idea what "other two chaps" you are referring to unless you mean the young people on this thread who have been asking daft questions as young people often do. However they are perfectly entitled to do so and they can be as daft as they like and there is no need to be rude to them just because you think you are posh and come from Bournemouth.

I rather think you should learn a little about tact and diplomacy. I shall be happy to be a role model for you in this regard.

It is not as heated as you think it is. We are merely being British.
Canadians have led sheltered lives I am afraid.

However if you wish to go and hug something then hug away. You are in prairie country so perhaps there will be an odd cow somewhere about that you can hug.

Better than an old fat guy I would have thought.

TylerD,

Sorry, but it sounds like you are just being childish and jealous.

He is getting better reactions than you. Maybe he can PERFORM better than you.

Haven't you figured out yet, it doesn't matter whether you use sleights or gimmicks, if someone can put on a performance with them, people will want to see that person.

So, if you went to Blackpool next year, I take it you would try to heckle the performers there, or do you think they don't use "gimmicks" albeit, on a larger, illusion scale.

Why not take time to watch your workmate perform, but from a "Jo Public" point of view.

Be constructive. If you are going to try to embarrass someone because he gets better reactions than you, you need to GROW UP.

Sorry if this seems harsh, or like a personal attack, but remember, YOU can answer back.

The magician you are talking about, is being slagged off without any way of defending himself.

You are on a magic forum, where magicians will help each other.

Seems like you should try the same at work.

Thank heavens, we appear to agree on something.

The two chaps I was referring to are indeed the younger ones who were questionning the use of the Svengali deck between our perfectly polite and civil exchanges. And yes, one can try to be posh coming from Bournemouth but alas it's not my birth place. I merely frequent the county of Dorset for occupational reasons that are indeed frightfully posh. We're not all coffin dodgers and ambulance chasers here old boy.

Anyway, I apologise for the confusion about your video posts. I was indeed under the impression that you had these available for on-line viewing.

I have tact and diplomacy in abundance thank you but I do prefer to use it towards those who are rather more deserving and own better ties. It's no use trying to be savvy with a 'loud' tie as you put it. Should you require the services of a tailor then let me know and I will send an introduction to my tailor in Saville Row.

It's not too far from Hamleys should you wish to cross Regent Street to procure a new Svengali deck and routine.

It's frightfully kind to offer your services as a tutor but it's not an area where I feel that I need much tutoring. Should I change my mind then I may request guidance from Mr Death who doesn't seem to be around at the moment. I do hope that Death isn't ill? On the other hand, he may be Welsh and pronounce it De'Ath which is frightfully posh don't you think? Perhaps he should come to Bournemouth if that's the case.

Bye the way, one would suspect that walking behind an elephant is indeed much safer than walking in front of one, all be it rather more messy.

I am highly amused to see that a Scotsman has been ignored here. Let us hope that it stays that way but I am sure it won't. If it does then I shall tiptoe away quietly and would advise the Scotsman to do so too. We will both continue to smile secretively.

Posh people from Bournemouth sometimes cannot see the wood for the trees.

My main memory of Bournemouth is being outwitted by tropical fish. It is a most awful memory which I will relate another time. Suffice it to say that I wish I had cut off the oxygen of the fish and choked the little b******s.

The other memory of Bournemouth was when I tried to sell svengalis there. The fish were tormenting me at the time. One day I asked a punter to try the cards in his own hands and he must have been the clumsiest person I have ever met. He fumbled and bumbled and just couldn't manage it. I remember thinking at the time it was lucky this fellow wasn't a magician.

Alas he was. His name was Bill Stickland. He was the boss of the British Ring of the IBM and the man was an incompetent. Not that I wish to speak ill of the dead of course but I will. You should have heard what Al Koran told me about him. Now he REALLY hated him.

Not that I am the type to spread gossip of course.

Awwwwe Im feelin the love here to guys. Thanks.

By the way the one that called me childish i forget who wrote that. But its not really about that. Ok yes I can agree that maybe i am taking it a bit far and yes I will be the one to addmitt I am a bit jealous lol, But I am a good performer ok. Nobody has ever caught my sleight of hand at Galaxy. (where I work) I have been doing magic for 8 years now. Well maybe not quite. But I have everything I do to pretty much perfection. Sure things can always be a bit better. But no worries, ill roll around the streets in jello :D

Sorry Dave, said member was excluded from TM yesterday after several complaints and several inappropriate posts. You'll need to seek guidance elsewhere, I'm afraid  !
