Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Talking of the Web, I had a thought the other day. What about tying a bit of (strong) IT to the spider, so that once it has been discoverred - it can appear to run off the hand.

There are obvious issues with this, such as
a) it would have to be fairly strong - as it would need to overcome the stickness. In saying that it wouldn't necessarily need to be that invisible. (It is spiders web after all), and everyone should be looking at just the spider.

b) Arguably the trick doesn't need the spider to move, as it has a higher fear effect by remaining firmly on the hand.

Anyway, it was just a thought and I must admit I have never tried it.

Most reactions from the victims seem to be along the lines of flinging the little 'orror as far as possible so something to retain it would be good!

PS There's a Lance Burton Show on Saturday (Lance Burton Master Magician: Top Secret (Rpt) 4pm on Saturday 1st November, 1 hour, on ITV2) and I think it's the one where, during the closing credits, they show several end bits of the Web. I assume they show the routine properly but that was the show I failed to record properly last time it was on so only got the last 5 minutes - Doh!
