Define magic. Disscuss.

can you be a little more specific about what you mean for us to discuss, starting a thread with a one line is probably a bit cryptic.

may i suggest "ive often wondered what people actualy think when they think of the word magic, please tell me your views."

my view is that the term magic can be defined as the displacement of peoples belifes, so that they can put there trust in an idea of something beyond there current understanding.

well if you give a vague post you get vague answers.

There Are Many Types Of Magic My Friends, There Are Illations, Black Magic, Novice Magic And Street Magic Example Swift Tricks. That’s Not All There Are Maybe Types Of Magic That No One Knows About, There Could Even Be Sorcery; But There Is No True Way To Characterize Magic In General Because It’s a Communal Word. perfect example of a well thought out reply.

magic is universal and crosses all boundrys of communication and social background's, and your right its all about the moment of the magic that moment were every day life transends the bounds of logical reason.
thats why i like doing kids oo err, jonathern king flash back, i meen doing magic for kids as they can carry that magic moment around with them for years i know I'm one of them.
my niece is also a recipient of one of thoughs moments supplied to her on her 8th birthday, she's now 15 and still remembers the time i made her make a live rabbit from a stuffed one, yes ive been doing it that long and my arm is getting quite tired.

Thats why I dropped the iusedtobelieve link in really, those memories of magic in our childhood are simply priceless. As children we simply accept everything as is, magic for a second stops that and you remember it for ever.

I can see the face as the rabbit starts to move, nice image, ty its cheered me right up that :)

I Truly Do Respect Magicians That Do Magic For Children Because It Builds Up There Mind's Eye. When A Child Gets To A Pacific Age His/Her Associates Or Family Make Then End Believing In Things Like The Tooth Fairy Or St. Nicholas But There Is One Thing That They Cannot Really Stop Believing In Unless They Are Forced Is Magic. And Trust Me My Friends Magic Is Nothing With Out Credence, Which I Think, Is The True Magic.

i can reveal the secret because its not used today as its deemed cruel and inhumane wee've come a long way since barbra jerk that chain woodhouse, my rabit was in the cuddly toy, not your common garden variety of rabbit though this was seventh in the line of bread for performance rabbits mind you.

i wrapped the toy in a cloth with just the head showing and with a few magical strokes of the toy rabbit head the real rabbit took shape, at that time livestock shows were the done thing, everyone produced livestock without a care in the world, most without any care for the livestock hanging them for hours behind stuff.

it is this trick that my niece remembers as magical and even though she is a confirmed veggie and against animal cruelty expert she stiil lookes fondly on that one moment.
