sounds to me like Max Mavens kurotsuke,as the poster above said unless theres a new method of getting the information without guessing , i will stick to kurotsuke.

You don't have to guess... you know who has the black ball every single time!
It's a brilliant methode, but of course you won't know for sure how it works... unless you buy it.

But if you allready have kurotsuke, and if you like it, why get a new one?

it's not kurotsuke, i would of said so in the review if it was! and mr. oberon would of credited him too....

The method is diabolical, and can be learned almost instantly.

I have just this second opened the packet of Oddball, took a look at the bag and balls without looking at the instructions and tried to work it out but couldn't.
Read the very brief instructions, felt rather stupid for not twigging and now am thinking of ways of introducing this into a routine. Brilliant!

When designing the instruction booklet for this effect, I realised quite quickly that this effect really does speak for itself, and aside from a couple of subtleties performance wise, there was no reason at all to overcomplicate them.

I think it's just one of those effects which does what it's meant to do so well that it really needs no explanation.

When I say brief instruction it really doesn't need anymore.

I've already performed this effect successfully at work after only about 10 minutes playing around with it.
Used the human whole lie detector bit and got them all no say they haven't got the ball one by one and then eliminated them all but the black ball holder.
I cant wait to combine this with the electric touch for much fun.

Is this available anywhere other than worldmagicshop?
I'm wanting a few other items that they don't have in stock, and don't want to order from 4 different stores (as what usually happens)

Do i need to be stuck to the included props? or can i borrow some same sized coins ,mark one with a X ,like in kurotsuke? That´s why i like kurotsuke,it´s 1000% impromptu.

Cosmic... other items COULD be used... but this is far prettier and cleaner than using 'X' coins etc. as the white balls are identical etc.

One of my favourite things about it, beyond the method, is the price. The workings are clever yet simple, and the instructions simply give you the skinny and let you build your own routine around it --> Low price, QED!

So many other magicians/mentalists would have constructed a load of pseudo-psychological bull and sold it for £35. Much respect to Marc for coming up with a top effect, keeping his feet on the ground, selling at a decent price and allowing the product to speak for itself. I received it, read the instructions, smiled, had a little go and dropped the bag neatly into my performing case. 'nuff said. I wish more magic could be like this.

Such a clever method it would have to have been thought of and actually it was. Its been published in a very similar effect by Barry Richardson and whilst one would expect a mention of Maven I think a nod to Barry in future instructions would be more appropriate. Surprised that nobody has picked this up.

This is in no way a criticism and does not diminish from what is an excellent, well priced and nicely produced addition to a market that is currently chock full of knock off c*** (not the best). I expect to sell a stack of these in the magic shop. Well done Marc.

As a general rule you should always seek to show this kind of thing to a few people in the know before releasing it to avoid treading on toes.

I just got this today and I must say at first glance I am extremely disappointed. As soon as I tipped the contents of the bag out it was extremely obvious how it was done, I did not need to read the instructions at all, the method was clear.
I will admit that I have yet to perform it yet, but I couldn't help wondering if I had got the same set as everyone else. After calming down I realised that with proper routining and spec management the glaringly obvious method should be covered quite well.
But I still can't understand why the ........... better not say too much. With such little faith in this I don't really know if I'll have the balls to perform it

love the simplicity of it.
I intend to use this as a sub effect in order to pick an "honest assistant". I ask them all to say in turn, "I have the black ball". Along the lines of the human lie detector, whoever really does have the ball becomes my assistant for the main closing effect.
Sound like a good idea? It should help bring the crowd in what with the extra participation etc. Also gives the all important reason for doing this.

As soon as I saw the balls I guessed the method. Nonetheless, I played about with a couple of ideas before performing this for some friends. The reactions were great, but afterwards I asked them to guess how I had done it and 2 of the 4 guessed correctly. I really think it is obvious once you see the props. I am going to take a trip to the art store and see what I can buy to help!
