One minor grumble

I am new to the forum and only just getting back into magic after years out of the game
I really enjoy the forum and it may be a while before I post anything useful as there are so many people on here with so much more experience

One only grumble about this forum is the size, too many rooms imo, not sure if its been mentioned before but maybe less rooms?

I really enjoy reading the Penn and Teller thread every week but don't know which room its in so have to use the search engine for P & T...

Other than that, some fantastic stuff on here and some of the reviews are excellent

Interesting observations! We had a cull a few years ago to reduce the number of rooms and have only added new ones where there is a clear need and indication that they will be used. Nevertheless, we've had several suggestions about increasing the number of rooms with specific types of magic having their own areas – you’ll see those in this section. At the moment the TM policy is to avoid new rooms otherwise the place will become difficult to navigate through - we leave huge forum size to The Magic Café! I doubt we can reduce things much more without encountering problems.

As for tracking threads, I usually click on ‘View posts since last visit’ to get straight to the latest additions.

Like I say it is only a minor grumble but one of my fav forums for poker only had 5 rooms, and it was enough!

I wanted to review a Marvin's Magic course I did yesterday, and ask peoples opinions on some DVD's I bought from Davenports afterwards...then ask if Alacazam is a decent online place to buy from THEN ask which coin unique I should purchase...I will get round to doing all of this later on when I'm unwinding.

I probably pick the wrong rooms anyway and the Mods will be moving them! 8)

Thanks for advice

Makes sense

And wasn't really moaning, I'll get used to it

That's true, it's all in cryptic sections as well.

Just wanted to echo that - the Magic Cafe has SO MANY sub-forums, it becomes completely unwieldy. It's almost impossible to keep up with what is going on, because if you want to check the discussions on topics that interest you, there are simply too many forums.

Now that it's been a few years, I'd be curious to know how others feel about the number of sub-forums here, and how practical and useful that is. Too many? Not enough?

I have some related thoughts about easily seeing the newest posts, but I'll post a separate thread about that.
