The Amazing Johnathan

For those of you who enjoy the comical side of magic and illusions, The Amazing Johnathan surely brings it out in every trick he does. Not only did he have a stand-up special involving magic on Comedy Central, but he is also friends with Criss Angel. (Let me say now that I think The Amazing Johnathan will last longer than Angel due to Johnathan's comical attitude) I was wondering if anyone heard of what TAJ was working on or if he is doing tours of the U.S. If you want to discuss him please post something.

He has a show in Vegas, at the Sahara.

He taped a special for Comedy Central but it still hasn't aired yet. Not sure when that's going to happen.

Are you talking about another special? Because I've already seen his Comedy Central special. I downloaded it onto my MP3 player.

I read about this a while ago, it is truly terrible, he has always been one of my favourite magicians to watch. Hopefully all goes well.

He's got a DVD of his live show available on his website. The only problem is if you're in the UK you can't pay with paypal as it's only set up for postage within the USA.

Darn it!!

Good to see appreciation for John here in this forum. A very entertaining performer and, in person, a genuinely nice individual.

We've seen him 2 years running in Vegas, once in the Sahara, I think, and this year, in an odd theatre next to the Planet Hollywood Casino (ramdomly with a dwarven impressionist show in the other auditorium simulaneously!)

Both of his shows were AWESOME, though this year's show seemed less polished.. apparently he fell out with the other casino's management - the new venue is a little smaller and A LOT shabbier, sadly..

His comedy timing is PERFECT and Psychic Tanya is an great foil..

Go to Vegas, watch Lance Burton (so you can tell your friends you have done so) - then watch a true Entertainer - long live Johnathan!

I've not seen any of his stuff for absolutely ages! And I'd completely forgotten all about Psychic Tanya as well.
A great act.

I first saw The Amazing Jonathon on "The Secret Cabaret" back in the olden days of Channel 4, with Simon Drake.

I love the way he can perform some pretty gory and gruesome effects but make it truly funny to watch. I've always been a lover of slapstick type humour and The Amazing Jonathon takes it to a whole new level.

Sad to hear about his condition too.

He is definitely ONE of my all time Magic Heroes!
