Psychokinetic Touches - by Steve "banachek" Shaw

"The mentalist talks about a deceased uncle, and how his ghost is still alive and in the room at that very moment. One spectator is seated and another spectator is stood across the room. The mentalist taps the standing spectator on the shoulder twice and the seated spectator feels the taps. That's right, the seated spectator actually feels two solid taps on their shoulder despite nobody being near them, proving that the uncle's spirit does indeed exist!"

Right so I finally purchased PK Touches after much consideration and disussion with TM folk. I was originally nervous at even buying the trick because most folk had said they had bought it and it had gone straight in the a draw as it couldnt be used or pulled off in their routine.

After reading the Booklet, I was blown away...I thought there was no way this could work (people who have the effect will know) its impossible to do.
(this was Saturday morning when I recieved this, and I had a party Saturday night) I was taking a few tricks as it was a mates birthday and I said as a present I would perform. Now after reading the PK touched, i had to rush out and perform it, although i didnt know how I was gonna do it........

After a good night of drinks and tricks everyone was in a great mood. Everybody wanted me to do that famous last effect, so....................................................................

I told everyone I was goind to contact the dead etc....So the music went off candles wer lighted in the fire place and the lights went out........This alone created an uneasy atmosphere...I then begun to reel off some patter, that coinsided with the ironically the death of my uncle last year.....

I had a husband and wife take part, and had asked the man to be seated at one end of the room, and the wife at the other end.....After the initial story I could see a few people were uneasy, so I went for the kill, I walked across the living room in front of 20 people and tapped his wife twice on the right shoulder.....I casually walked to the fireplace so everyone could see me....(about 6ft from the man) and I asked - "did you feel anything" at first he said no, but then about a second later he said "Ive just felt two taps on my right shoulder"

The room gasped, as the man opened his eyes he looked towards his wife, with a look only a husband could give, for reassurance, and the whole room said "he didnt touch you, he touched your wife"

Now I was totally buzzing, and I got goosebumps up my arms, one woman noticed and she pointed this out....about two seconds after this I looked around to a group of my friends, who werent too sure what had happened in the room...Two of my close friends were cryine (of this im not proud, but it made the effect seem so much more emotional and scary)

People left after this effect, genuinley touched (no pun) and feeling very spiritual...............

I know im wafting a bit now, but I really cant believe the powerful effect this trick had on my audience.........I can honestly say that it was my best performance to date (without sounding like im boasting) but I loved performing it......

This trick is definatley not for everyone, you do need a certain amount of minerals to pull go through with this, but it is certainly worth every penny if not lots more........

i hope people that have this trick hidden away, get it back out and seriously give it a go, its immense.............

Rito off to buy PK TIME now lol

I too got this but have never performed it, mainly because I haven't yet found a situation in which to do so. Sounds like you struck lucky with landing a scenario where you could perform it right away! When I read the method I laughed out loud and felt like grabbing the nearest two people to do it on but what with one thing and another I've never found a way to include it any routines ("Look, your card's in my mouth! Right, now for something serious...").

Oz Perlmann has an excellent and even cleaner version using a certain item which you may already have, pm me if you'd like to know.

I have it as well and am also waiting for the right moment (as an amateur you have to pick your moments). Will it ever come? I don’t know but as far as I am concerned it’s a one go wonder, I can’t see me being able to repeat this effect to my circle of F&F.

It’s a wonderful example of simplicity I just wish I could get the most out of it.

i got this and have performed it only usually to the inebriated.....it kinda has went into the ol magic black hole in the spare room......i do have a question though when doing this trick are you never paranoid about the time lapse ( i suppose you could call it) has any body any thoughts on this?????.....its a shame cause i think you got it spot on magic criss..... i best performed this in a bothy in the isle of ske for tourists trying to catch some beutiful scottish scenery, i think they went back home thinking they had been on a virtual wicker man experience.....the atmos is all important ( as i think it is with all these effects types of effects)......just thought id give my two cents

Yes I agree I dont think you could repeat it to the same group of people again, unless you are super subtle..............But its pure genius really...

The ideal performance situation for this depends on spectators:

1. Preferably sober
2. Preferably strangers
3. Already 'in the mindset', i.e. don't use it as an opener
4. Don't choose couples, choose strangers to each other. That way, they are more on edge.
5. Don't just TRY this at any given opportunity... it will fail, and you will consign it to the bottom drawer. Save it, love it, and use it when you're ready

i disagree with the idea of using strangers tip, the fact that the couple i used were husband and wife made it more impressive, because they both were looking for reassurance from each other, but it wasnt their as each of them knew exactly what they had seen and felt.....

However I do see how your point of using strangers is good to.

But definatley not to be used all the time, save it for that rainy day, I jsut got lucky me thinks lol

I can't agree with this, from personal experience.

I recommend using people you personally do not know.

And...

The bond which is absent between two strangers makes this effect even more eerie, the fact there is NO attachment or common ground.

Choosing people who know each other has lead me to the embarrasing 'giggling couples' etc. wheras two total strangers has yielded much better results.

I'd be interested on how others have found this.

yep...strangers all the way for me too...

some people freely accept that "yeah, well, its because they've been together for so long...thats why they're so in tune with one another"...

if its strangers, well, there's no answers...other than the ones you suggest directly or indirectly....

ah...think on young jedis upon that sentence...

"other than the ones you suggest directly or indirectly...."

and then go buy lots of kenton knepper books

Have to agree this is one of the most powerful things you can do – given the right setting. I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to do this at night outside a graveyard. The girl who was touched refused to speak to me for the rest of the night.

Re the question about the time lag - After I touch the second spectator, I wait for about 10 seconds before asking the first spectator if she felt anything (this can’t be dead time though – you need to give the spectators something to look at or they’ll fall asleep. Keep it simple though. I simply close my eyes and take two very long, deep breaths, and act like I’m trying to “sense” something in the air. I don’t use Banacheck’s presentation but a slightly different theme, so this seems to fit my presentation). Anyway, after the time lapse, I ask her if she felt something. She confirms. I’m slightly surprised, and very interested. I ask her, “you mean right now, a little while back?” I don’t want to give the method away, but you can understand how this is interpreted by everyone involved.

10/10 on the review. This would have to be one of the top 5 tricks I have ever come across.

May I recommend the Invisible Touch by Lior Manor to take this concept to a whole new level
