Effect:

You give a deck of cards to the spectator,
And ask them to cut the deck anywhere they want.
Whilst your back is turned.

They bring the deck up to their face to peek at the top card,
Then they can then out down the deck, whatever they want.

You turn around.
You know the card.
You name it.
It's right.

NO MISTAKES.
NO FORCING.

Right every time.

My opinion:
I think this is a beautiful effect, where you can perform anywhere with a deck of cards.
No gimmicks required, so you can end clean.
All that needs doing is a little bit of 'this 'n that' and then it is ready to perform straight away, everytime.
Just pull it out of your pocket and your ready to perform it.

My rating:
This has got to be a 10/10 for me.
So, so easy to do.
No gimmicks.
Done anytime, anywhere.
And you get crazy reactions.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves mentalism,
And I especially would recommend this trick to people who have Bang On By Marc Oberon,
As you can do Bang On, then lead onto this.

It's also so very far from new. I don't know the precise set-up but the basic concept (which, I've heard, is pretty much all you're paying for here) can be found in most beginners magic books.

Buy something like The Encyclopaedia of Card Tricks and then look up Osterlind's excellent take on the premise.

If you're based in the UK you can buy the two aforementioned texts for more or less the same price of this DVD...

I would like to add that this is without doubt one of the most disappointing "tricks" I ever purchased - when I received the DVD and the information I felt well and truly cheated.

It's really good.
Seriously get it.

If there's a download version,
I would suggest getting that rather than the dvd because it's not worth it.

The dvd is only 9 minutes long,
and 3 minutes is just the trailer pretty much.

But seriously get it,
you only need to do one small thing,
Which I can do flawlessly,
And I don't have the best slight of hand in the world.

All you have to do is a small set up before starting,
then you don't have to set up ever again.

I've done this trick 20+ to my family today,
and they were blown away.

Get it,
Get it,
GET IT!!!

Rhid:

You didn't start off with any beginners books did you? No. You rushed out and bought something which looks and sounds good and think you have the authority to comment on it. You don't.

Is this the same thing that's on the Richard Sanders Show DVD?

In opposition to Rhid I would strongly advise you to stop and think about the trick - maybe for about 30 seconds - then you won't need to buy it.

However - if you do buy it you will enjoy it, and you will also learn an important lesson - curb the compulsion and engage brain.

Can I just mention that anyone who buys this effect and raves about it has probably not even stepped near the first rung of the ladder of magic...

As a dealer I try and 'keep on top' of new releases, and I got the DVD of this in (Yes, being a dealer allows you to buy things without spending your own money—it's a CUPS remedy!). I cannot believe for one single second that this made so many waves as a standalone effect. It's the kind of thing most people on this forum would consider a 'utility' rather than a whole DVD.

Sorry, Kevin, but I'd advise that people avoid this like the plague and invest instead in something by Osterlind et al. There's cerainly nothing 'breakthrough' about Psnype

Cardza.

I have had beginners books,
How can you judge that I haven't?

WOW..~
You really are psychic. :0

And of course I have the right to judge this trick,
I bought it,
And it's my opinion.

I think it's really good because it's easy,
and I've done it to family,
and loads of friends in school.

And it's worked 100% of the time, all the time.

And how am I supposed to go out and buy these other dvds?
I purely bought this dvd with the remaining of my birthday money,

And appart from my birthday,
I don't have money to spend on magic tricks.

Think twice, yeah?

Because you praise this so highly when the basic method appears in most.

And of course I have the right to judge this trick,
I bought it,

I never said you didn't have the right to judge it. I said you hadn't the authority, the knowledge to - and you clearly don't if you think that a minor variation on Stebbins is a new idea.

Think twice, yeah?

Excuse me?

Rhid,
You have every right to review a trick that you have purchased, but you should also be willing to accept other people's criticism of the same trick.
Just because you love the trick doesn't mean it is the best thing since sliced bread.....

It is a fact that Psnype, whilst being a very well marketed routine, uses a very common and very well known method (well known in the right circles that is.) You will fool the public with it, which is good - that is what it is supposed to do, but you must also accept that you have been fooled by it - it is not a 10/10 full value for money mind blowing routine, it is one effect created using a very old and well known method.

Other comments here may seem harsh to you, but you are recommending something that other people agree is not worth the money.
