Just ordered a pack of these babies to give a sense of novelty to my return to magic practice!

That's bizarre. Not sure why there'd be such a difference between mainland US and Canada. Mine shipped quickly. Nice cards, I didn't think they were outrageously overpriced, considering they're not the usual bikes, and were cheaper than those 'other' custom decks. ;)

The decks are comming from the USA via boat, there has been a delay according to BBM, I guess it's beyond their controle. However still worth waiting for lol

Take care all

They're okay. I must stop getting over excited about these things. I order them, they arrive, I open them, and guess what? It's a pack of cards.

Mine came today even thought they were supposed to be despatched tomorrow. The cards themselves are pretty good. The backs are nice and the jokers and ace of spades look great but apart from that it's just a deck of cards...

Time to go back to my bikes now...

I quite like these as "novelty" decks go.
As with the Shadow Masters I bought recently, I like the gaffed jokers with the card reveal printed on. I don't really go in for specially buying in a whole deck of gaffed cards so the fact I'm getting a "freebie" is right up my alley.

I also like the one-way feature built into the design which is the main reason I bought these as I'm working on a few effects which utilise this principle but ideally I want the marking to be as sublte as possible. And as there has only been a hint that they would be one-way, it took me nigh on half an hour of careful studying the deck to find the right place.
Having located it, I have to say it's in a perfect position for my needs. Almost exactly the same point that I've been customising my standard Rider backs in fact.

Nice work BBM.

Received mine today, in time for Hallowe'en which nice.

I like! Although the "normal" red was a bit of a surprise and looks quite bright and friendly amidst the carny-gothic back design - I'd wondered whether they might go for an altered colour scheme with the pips, burgandy and grey perhaps...

but overall, a sweet deck indeed. I like the understated feel of it, it has a sort of "old timey" appeal... less of the blustering, in-yer-face machismo of other speciality decks, more sly and curious.

Two penneth:

When I first opened these I was a little disappointed that - jokers and ace aside - they were standard faces. 0.3 of a second later I remembered that I never really use my Ghost deck, Red deck, etc. because they look like trick cards. These Karnivals seem like normal cards, but - due to the backs (ace and jokers) - with a spooky slant. That is, they're atmospheric without looking suspicious. The one-way design is also lovely. It took me a good five minutes of staring (staring, knowing it was there) to find it, yet, once you know it (and this is what I really like) it's very easy to spot: spreading through the cards - fast - you will not miss it; it leaps out.

I'm so torn. I agree with the quote above. As a beginner I got such a buzz from ordering different coloured decks (my wife thought I had lost the plot - "And look at these darling - they're, like, YELLOW!") but I don't really use them as people would assume they were trick decks. I have enough trouble with people assuming I'm using trick decks even when I'm not (OK - *sometimes* I am).

There's then the argument about using them for practice decks only to keep things "fresh" but I don't even seem to bother with them for that purpose anymore and so have about 12 decks of multicoloured cards sitting doing nothing.

At least these would not look *too* suspicious as they have ordinary faces. Maybe we forget that anything apart from red or blue bikes can make us wary whereas the vast majority of the people we're performing to wouldn't think "Hey - they're not red/blue-backed bikes - what's going on?".

In terms of the money though for around the same amount you could buy a lovely gimmicked effect like "Developmental" from Magicbox, which would open up a new effect that you wouldn't achieve with a standard deck.

Still I might just buy them anyway. C.U.P.S. and all that.

Mine came the other day.

Opened them, fanned them, found the thing that does the thing, admired the jokers, realised i couldnt do any more sleights or tricks with this deck than i could with my other decks, put them back in the box, gave them to my brother to use for his poker games, had a go at myself in the mirror for spending twice what i should have on a deck of cards, promised myself to never do it again, went on the internet, ordered some LOVELY looking cards from those chaps at Theory 11.

D'oh.

That's ok, as long as you keep in mind that they're just cool-looking cards. ;)

BBM's marketing is catching up with E

They're notifying people that they're about to run out which is usually a clear sign that they've got lots left
