Coin Penetration

Postby TheOldForum » Feb 8th, '02, 22:59

Name: Coin penetration
Price: £4.99
Type: Coin
Difficulty: 2 (for the reset)
Performance time: 2-5 minutes
Reset time: 2 minutes
Examinable: yes
From: Magictrickshop.co.uk

Effect: A sheet of rubber is placed over a glass and secured with a rubber band. A coin resting on top of the sheet is visibly pushed through. All items can then be examined.

Comments: An excellent trick that never ceases to baffle, and I've even got the spectator to push the coin through thus adding to their disbelief. At the asking price, it's money well spent.

Took my first ever trip to Davenports yesterday... ended up buying this and one other trick.

For £4.50 I must say, it is VERY good, however I can't think at the moment how i can present the glass and rubber to start with, as the spec can't see you putting the rubber on the glass... know what i mean?

Any ideas out there?

Zack - this has been discussed in some depth

http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/viewtopic.ph ... =pena+coin
http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1345

If in a pub, I personally like to go to the bar to set it, saying that I need a fresh glass, similarly if at home, do it in the kitchen, but it can be pre-set up, and fairly easily done with hands under the table.

Anyway - read the other topics as there is a lot of information already discussed.

Cheers mate - didn't spot what the word 'pena' meant, or that it was an abbreviation at all!
