Black Tiger Gaff Deck. [Can be found on NUMS site]

Postby Delude » Apr 13th, '06, 10:43

Hey, i wouldn't mind a review on the black tiger deck [www.NothingUpMySleeve.co.uk] and wandered how hard it is to use and if you need to know advanced sleights. i'd also love to heard the reactions people have had from audiences if anybody has performed it yet.

Thanks.

Yep. I agree. I've actually also got a warning on the page stating you will need a fair knowledge of sleights to be able to use the deck.

Yeah i can use sleights. I just wandered which sort of sleights you needed, i can do al the basics. That's why i was wandering if i should just get the black deck with 4 gaff cards, i think it's easier to use basic sleights with that.

Personally I don't have a Tiger gaff, but I do have a Tiger deck and use it lots. I found that the gaffs that are supplied with the original decks do enough for me to perform the routines I use them for..

As Ive said before I do have the Ghost Gaff, but even then I only use a few of the Gaffs from that.

Maybe you should get a Tiger deck, see what you can do with it and then see about getting the gaff deck.. You might find (like several others) that the tiger isn't really your style and then you'll not have wasted loads of money on something you won't use, it also means that you'll have to find uses for the limited gaffs you get, and this may give you a stronger routine in the long run.

Thanks mr flashy :D I think i'll just get 'The black Deck' for £5, it has four gaff cards and that'll suit me as they're extras so i can just use the deck on its own :D

The Black deck and the Black Tiger deck are different. If you aspire to later use the Black Tiger Gaff deck then you should go for a normal Black Tiger deck.

However, remember when you buy the 'Gaff' Tiger deck you don't want to be mixing new cards into an old deck so you will most probaly need to buy another new but normal deck at that time.

Like Flash, I too like to use Tigers. They have a lovely feel and look to them and although I don't have a black deck, from the pictures that I've seen the Tigers win. I also prefer the white pipped Tigers instead of the red.

Can i ask what the real difference is between the tigers and 'The Black Deck'. The only real reson I'm gonna get the black deck is because it is a normal deck, with some added gaff cards to use if you wanted. It is red and white pipped so i thought that was pretty cool aswell. And all for £4.69 i think it's pretty good, i have bought a bicycle deck for that price.

Ah... that's a Black deck, the tiger is more like a negative shot white on black, the only colour is an optional red pip design. Check the ellusionist site for more details.

Not sure as I dont own the black deck... but the Ellusionist decks generally use a thicker stock than normal bikes and have a different finish (airflow) helping them to glide like butter in your hands. I think the gaff deck is designed for use with Tigers so if that is your end goal I'd get them (tigers come complete with a couple of gaffs as well).

Personally I think they also look less fussy (but that's probaly because I'm so fussy)

 Are we allowed to swear on this forum?

I didn't know that the tigers came with gaffs, damn i didn't read much about them. I already bought the black deck, it has four gaff cards, i got it for £4.99 in the end so i don't think it's that bad. What do you say about:
The Vanishing Deck

Red Bicycle Box Transforms To The Black Deck

The Blank Deck To Real Cards

Many, Many More Effects With The "Elevator Card"

Hmm. Seems alright to me, i might get a tiger aswell :D Where can you get the tigers with some gaffs? ellusionist?

Wow. And i never knew that Apple and Tiger were together. Damn i should read more.

All the above is way off topic, :D, i'd still love somebody to review the cards. I originally wanted a review as i loved that trick with the voodoo card and pins. Now i know there's gotta be osme forces and advanced sleights to be used in this pack but i'd still lvoe to hear what everybody else thinks off the tiger gaff cards.

Tigers are from Illusionist and are top quality. I recall when they cam eout they were said to be the best quality cards ever made by the USPCC. the white is also UV sensitive from what I've heard.

The Black Deck is basically a normal deck with a black, instead of white background. Normal colours and all on the court cards. I also read that this is a Magic Makers produced deck so that they could get a piece of the Illusionist action.

I'd take the Tigers every time.

The colours on the black deck aren't the same to the normal decks though.
