..but an idea crept into my mind - did you read today that The Old Vic in the West End will be laying fallow for a few months now after their latest play has shut early?

Well, wouldn't it be nice if Mr. Spacey put on some magic shows or something if someone could convince him to do it? Im no where good enough, though i would have the brass-cahoneys to ask...

http://www.oldvictheatre.com/contact.php

Low outlay...quick bit of advertising, even make him feel bad refusing by giving the door reciepts to charity or something...

The link above gives the contact e-mail address if anyone's feeling brave and has an act....go on! they can only say no...

Interesting. After all, magic's in the media at the moment.

Do it! But make the approach with a plan rather than a vague idea. Get some contacts for magic agents, think about the target market, costs, marketing, DVD tie-ins, etc.

Ive already sent in a cheeky e-mail...

this was more of a gee-up for people that are maybe in a magic-club of some kind i suppose; or someone with a proper full-on act...

it would be good though - you could have impromptu/close up stuff through the aisles...stage illusions and such going on too....

cor! i'd love it if someone recreated a full on victoriana type show - spirit cabinets, seances, people dressed up doing strange things in the foyer...not emptying the fag machine obviously...

reckon the magic-circle would be good to contact?

if you want to get in touch with Kevin Spacey you need to write to:

Kevin Spacey
C/O William Morris
52/53 Poland Street
London
W1F 7LX

You will get a much better response if you write to him rather than email.

I must say though that whilst the Vic is going to be free for awhile Spacey has already stated that he would rather it empty than fill it with something that is rushed. its worth asking the question but don't hold any hopes.
