This is a Great Deck, and I have recently started out in this magic business and and getting more into it. A few friends of mine played pocker with this deck not even knowing it was a trick deck.
so I know it fools people.
I have bought the 101 tricks book for the stripper deck, If anyone can inform me on were I can get new tricks for it, please let me know.
I give this deck a 9/10.

Thank you.

If you have the 101 tricks for a stripper deck like me, then I am pretty sure this will keep you going for a while!

The stripper deck is a wonderful gimmicked deck in that it can be examined by those you are performing to, and it is unlikely that they will detect the secret. Everyone should have one and it should be near the top of any budding magician's shopping list.

I just started out and I think this deck is great... You can even have them pick more than one card!
I also found out that you can shuffle them also, which I thought would mess them up but it doesn't, when done right!

One of the best effects I have achieved by using the stripper deck is that of the card behind window. First get the spec to choose a card and then get them to put it back in the pack, after this say that you can fidn the card behind your back. Then when you place the deck behind your back, get someone to take the card and put it behind a window out of the way of the spec. Then show the spec a random card, and when they say your wrong act annoyed and throw the cards at the window.
The trick takes a bit of practice and the other person needs to be non-obvious when putting it behind the window. But if it is pulled off it looks great, best in crowded areas.

I would suggest a better way to do it is to hand them back the deck and ask them to find their card, that way they are distracted whilst they focus on the deck. When they can't find it say are you sure and take the deck back and thumb through it yourself, then throw it.

It's even better if you get them to mark the card first!

That would be a good way to do it with a spectator marked card but personally I'd prefer to do it the boring way without using anyone else, that is have the card already stuck to the window (behind a curtain if you're indoors) then just force that card.
This is the effect I get asked about the most: "how does Blaine get the card on the inside of the window?" and this is the only time I ever actually tell people the truth about magic tricks they've seen on TV because they never believe that the card is already there!

I agree with you Nick, but perhaps you are assuming our friend here (Aaron) is up to speed on forcing.

I am sure Nickj would agree with me when I say it would be very worthwhile spending a bit of time practising some forces... there are lots of very simple ones that require virtually no sleight of hand. I am sure Nickj knows loads, but I personally know seven good ones, of which I only really use three (and they're the easiest!)

When you have them sorted, then do it Nickj's way, this means you can use a normal deck… and you can be sure there are many people out there that know all about Stripper Decks!

Sorry to hear about your dad,
I only tend to use a couple of forces, but I do know hundreds you're right, if you look at the learned pig project website (I don't know the ddress, use google)you'll find a book online there called 201 methods of forcing which is worth reading, in fact everything on the site is worth reading, if you don't know about it it calls itself an online repository of magic books, there a loads of books available completely free there.

Stripper Deck

Postby doodlebox » Jan 22nd, '04, 00:03

Hi,

I've recently rekindled my inerest in magic, (something I loved as a kid). To get back into it I bought a Bicycle Stripper Deck from an online retailer. When the deck arrived it had already been opened ie the sticker was cut and folded on the box. What is worrying me is that aside from the usual gimmick along the long edge of the cards, this deck also has a corner cut on every card, to varying degrees. This looks quite obvious and means the deck cannot be handed out for inspection.

Is this normal for the Bicycle Stripper Deck or have I been sold a modified second hand version?

Thanks for your help and apologies for the long winded post!

doodle since the deck is made from a regular deck your sticker will be cut and opened this is normal, as for the corner cut, this is the bit that makes a stripper deck a stripper deck it shouls only be a barely noticeable milimeter cut off the corner and should whith a bit of ware to the cards appear natural.

if yours is realy noticable then i suggest you send them back and ask for a replacement, no one has ever looked at the cards on the table and said there odd looking, if your worried then why not switch the cards before and after the trick.
i myself never give my cards out for examination, rather leave them to make up there own minds as to how i did it.

Hmm I don't think it's normal for the sticker to be cut, though as long as the cards are ok I wouldn't worry about it. This brings us on to your second point. I'm looking at my Bike stripper set right now and one corner of each card has a tiny piece taken off. Though I have to say they are all identical. Personally I would be very surprised if a spectator noticed it and if they did, not sure they could think how this would be any use.

happy mine arrived in the same way from e-magic as there is no outward appearance that they are strippers the sticker is cut for identification purposes.

Ah right, mine arrived with sticker intact and in a cellophane wrap. Though I didn't get them from emagic tricks, so perhaps it depends on where you buy them.
