Need help with a pass.

I'm trying to do the pass where you pass the selected card to the top. I learnt it one way and I'm having a lot of problems doing it.

I've made a recording of me doing it and then how I do it. I'm hoping for some advice on better ways of doing it or advice on how to do it the way I learnt it better.

I'll PM the link to whoever can help.

Other than that, it's just practice I guess.

Dunno quite what we're dealing with yet, but I'd be happy to try and help you out.

Thanks for the help. I've sent/replied PMs with the video attached to it and information on what I'm hoping for.

Sorry about the lack of description here though.

Anyways, thanks again.

Sorry about my lack of knowledge, but is a "pass" the same thing as a "control"?
Excuse my french brain ;)!

Yep. Basically it's just controlling the cards and the pass is one of the methods of doing it. I don't know if the pass is the name of this, it's just what the people at my club call it. On the Card Trick Central site, the sleight described as Bottom Charged sounded very much like this pass but I don't know. I just know it as a classic pass.

The classic pass is definitely the right name. There is a alternative called the Hermann Pass which is easier to perform but not as invisible to the speccies. I'd recommend you learn both, go out and try them on people and see what works best for you.

Thanks. I'll look into the Hermann Pass when I get the chance. But darn, this pass is tricky. LOL

Either that, my hands are just starting to sweat a bit so the cards are sticking onto my hands...

I'm still amazed how this can be done under a second. So quick that even at a revealing angle, it isn't noticable... (besides the break).

It's definitely possible to do it that quick and with the right angles it can't even be spotted when played in slow-mo. If you want a good example try checking out my Jokers Wild video and "spot the pass"!

I'll give you a clue, when I return the first card to the deck it is passed to the top as I'm squaring up the deck. I never knew my pass was that good until I made that video. It's nowhere near consistent to that standard but I can slip my pass by almost any spectator I like now by using the misdirection techniques I mentioned in the PM.

LOL Your pass was very good indeed. I think I've got it now, just need a bit of practice and once I'm confident, I'll make a routine for it. So thanks down2infinity, magic_evmeister and Pitto for helping me out. I shall make my teachers proud.
