Jay Sankey Secret files volume 1

Postby magic8697 » Apr 29th, '06, 20:35

First off let me say I'm a big Jay Sankey fan and I think this is one of his best videos ever. Here goes

1. CARBON PAPER - A smoke staine tavels from one card to another!
2. WHAT IF - A shocking transformation of a page from a notepad!
3. STRONG MEDICINE - A killer 2-phase effect with a borrowed bill!
4. SELECTIVE MEMORY - Jay's all-time favorite "Four Ace" opener!
5. OUTSIDER - An eye-popping color changing deck routine!
6. BLACK MARKET - Mind control with a book of matches!
7. PENALTY BOX - A card vanishes from the card case under test conditions!
8. SWEET BREAD - A sugar packet and a bill change places in the spectator's hand!
9. 180 DEGREES - The "Triumph" routine that blows magicians away!
10. CHAMELEON - A matchbook changes into a selected card!
11. SENSATIONS - A ridiculously easy two key transposition!
12. SIGNED, SINGED & DELIVERED - You won't believe what Jay does with flash paper!

The video's are 44.95 for both volumes. I will have a review of the second volume shortly.

The routines all are fairly easy to perform so I would say a difficulty rating between 2 and 3 on most of the effects. My favourite effect is outsider. You have a spectator select a card. You have the spectator put it face down any where in the deck. You than wrap a rubberband around the deck. You toss the deck 3 times and on the third time the deck changes colour. The selected card is face up. Very easy to do. Most of the effects on this video are winners.

I give this video a 9 out of 10. One of the best videos I have in my collection.

personally id give these tricks a higher difficulty rating, but i completely agree that they are fantastic tricks!
On a negative note though, the scenes are badly lit and the sound quality is also below average

Yeah the quality could always be better in just about any Sankey video. The best quality is probably the L and L releases. Which effects do you think are harder on the secret files video. I didn't think there was anything really that hard. But than again I haven't sat down and tried all the effects. Some things could be harder than they look.

This has to be 1 of his best dvds to date. Most of the effects are not only easy but I have got some of the best reactions from theses effects, and as always they are taught by 1 of the best teachers sankey. I would reccomend
it 2 most people.
