Roy Johnson says he uses Evo Stick.

Well, two things come to mind, one if I remember correctly is called "cow gum" and it's what's used to fix photographs to card for display purposes, the other is that earosol spray glue. They use it to fix the cloth to our pool tables so I assume it's good stuff.

Just put cow gum into a search and they dont make it anymore but there is a replacement mentioned on this site and many other worthy products too:-

Anthony Owen's Changin' Glue...let it dry and it works like a post-it, use it straight away and its like any other glue... :D

On the same kind of note has anyone attempted to split the back of a playing card from the front as I've had the idea of adding a shim to a playing card.
I'm aware it is probably an old idea but I thought it would look good to use a raven to pick out a selected card from a spread pack.

Glueing Playing Cards

Postby Allen Tipton » May 2nd, '06, 17:54

:) NOT what I'm after guys. Used Cow Gum for many years after a lecture by Eric Lewis(it's in one of his books too) And have used repositioning glue(Blue glue), spray mount and copydex (demmed this for 40 years in my Stage Makeup lectures) These are fine BUT they are meant to be TEMPORARY. I need a glue that is permanent
Thinking caps on please.

As I said, rubber cement. Being spirit based, it doesn't warp the cards, and bonds pretty well. I've used it for shimming and making double thick cards for yonks.

How about PVA, it is what I use for a permanent fix, and it dries clear.

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!

See my note above...

In my experience, water based glues will warp the cards. Which is why I tend to go for spirit based glues.

Although, PVA glue does give a great bond ;)

Indeed. Copydex contains water. Which will soak into the pasteboard and warp it.

Another alternative, Allen, is to use decent quality double sided tape, if it's just a pocket you're after.

I've used the extra strong Prit Stick glue, the one that's in a silver coloured tube and have used this on a number of different card applications without problems.

It's cheap and worth giving a try.

I use double sided tape to stick cards together all the time. It sticks permanently and is quick to do. I use a wide width tape and can cover the card entirely in 3 rows. Only thing to be wary of is that you really have to get the cards square 1st time. Very little chance of repositioning.

Try soaking the card in warm water for 20 mins. The card will split very easily. You can then put it back together, and leave it to dry. I think a fuller explanation can be found in corinda's 13 steps.
