like all things in life there are plenty of masters in the art that will never receive any recognition while others seem to just hit it lucky.
the difference is that dynamo set out to be big from the outset and was helped somewhat by a flagging city desperately in need of an ego boost with local newspapers jumping on anything that could create a story.
i believe he will achieve his goal.
i am from the same city as him and know that he spent many years outside local nightclubs entertaining for free and more importantly practicing his audience management skills.
he was at the right places at the right times and got to know all the 'right' people so good luck to him, its easy for those 'in the know' to knock him, but all magicians will benefit in someway in the end due to increased interest in all things magical.
packet tricks may not interest pros but they do seem to impress laypeople so what the heck?
i couldnt believe a vernet tt would fool anyone when i first purchased my little plastic miracle device a few years ago but hey!,its the best £3 i ever spent! i have even used it to 'vanish' a cigarette craving during a brief hypno session with someone so presentation is everything and we missed that aspect of dynamo's magic due to the 'fast' editing of the show.
the king is dead, long live the king!
