Quick Dough Video

Postby Delude » May 8th, '06, 22:06

hey all, i havn't seen anyone post a bideo of Dough on here so i thought i'd make a quick video. this is only like the 4th time i have actually practised it and it is just a quick video to show others that may not have seen it. I can see it revealing slightly how the trick is done but you may wanna look for yourselves.

Thanks :D

[Had to call it Pencil Penetration because if i show it some people at my school i know they'll go fishing for secrets on the net!]

Nice to hear some slipknot in a magic video!

As for the effect itself, it was nicely done. I'm still on the fence with this one. I've known the effect for a while now, but I find that once I had my pen thru dollar, it just didn't seem necessary, anymore.

Granted, this version is completely clean - but other details of it make it too suspicious looking. Do you prefer this over the other methods available?

Well i actually have a pen thru bill [with a mahusive 'payload' as they say on penguin] and i do like that but i think the gimmick may be failing or i just have practised enough anymore. I havn't used it in a while and i mean both ways everything can be examined, in Dough you do need to clean a lil bit up, you'll know what i mean if you have it. I do like both, you could do the pen thru bill and you might get a spec that shouts 'bet ya can't do that with a pencil!'. And then you say 'hmm, well i'll give it a go'. And then perform dough. :D I am a great slipknot fan and i believe that wait and bleed is one of their bests!
[If anyone cares, i think Corey Taylor is getting back with Stonesour as well, his old bgand before slipknot although he is not giving slipknot up he just wanted to get back and get Stonesour more recognised]

Looks good...

I prefer the perfect pentration pen....think thats whats its called...

The only thing thats good about this is you can do it when you have`nt got anything with you...the items can be found in most places at hand.

The slip of paper is the reason i don`t like this.....as it is almost an item that should`nt be needed......example " i am going to push this pencil thru this ten pound note...." ....spec says.. "why do you need the slip of paper ...???"
To me it seems surplus to what you are trying to show....thats why the other effects are better IMO .

The effect that uses a yellow pencil does this with out the need of the slip of paper..

Sorry long message.

I enjoyed the original Stone Sour album. Quite a departure in many ways, but still a great piece of work. Which was the natural progression into Slipknot - since I feel volume 3 is their best album to date.

Ywah i agree with you demetri. And foz, Jay sankey explains when he is performing dough that signing a note is frowned upon by many and that it is harder to spend a note with a big signature across it. Then you can say about how you can just sign this post-it instead. The perfect penetration thing you're talking about, is that the one with the yellow pencil and gimmick? That trick is VERY angly.

It's called Misled, by Timothy Wenk, and it's not that angley! Sure, there are some bad angles, but it's stronger than Dough in other ways (e.g. there are two phases, one with a Dough-like effect and then one with a visual melt-through. And then you can hand out everything for full examination because there is nothing to find :)
