PK Factor Pro

Postby TopHouse » May 11th, '06, 15:34

The Effect

PK Factor Pro, various effects possible with this kit.

Cost

70 to 80 UK Pounds

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

1 Easy, more imagination than skill as you can 'doctor' a lot of objects.

Review

One person in particular has been questioning me about this prduct since i published the fact that I'd got one. In my honest opinion, do NOT buy this! I got one at half price from the closing down sale of magicmarket. In all honesty, if I'd paid the full price for this I would have felt ripped off! Basically you get a card shell, (encloses an M5), an M5, a small bag of nails, a poorly gaffed match, a card shim and 12 straws (everyday straws, unfgaffed, same as you'd get for free at mcDonalds! (you gaff them yourself with the nails)

Yes, it really is that c*** (not the best)!

There is very little in the form of documentation as this kind of work is very much down to your imagination, you are given the 'tools' (or overcharged for them!) and it's up to you to build a performance around them.

Overall

What can I say, massively overcharged. BUT if you fancy going into this area, there is a FAR better option, knowing what I know, here's what I'd do along with a breakdown in cost :-

Buy the "Get Fluxed Special Edition" from Siege at nothingupmysleeves.co.uk £15.00

Buy the Z9 from emagictricks £20

Buy a packet of razor blades, (the original sfaty razor type) £1.50 (shims)

Buy a packet steel dressmaking pins. £1.50

Buy a magnetic coin. about £18.00

With the above, you will get FAR more than comes in the pk factor pro kit, and a far better quality too!

(there is no coin in the pro kit, but I bought one from emagictricks and it has a LOT of possibilities)

Also, a recommendation for anyone wanting to get into this particular area, drop 'Siege' a line, I have dealt with him and his level of service is VERY good.

is the PK Pro anything similar to the M5??? i bought the M5 at Ellusionist and it was MUCH cheaper than the price you quote and came with stacks of very helpful accessories, plus a lot of helpful reading tips, hints, closed forum access etc. so the PK pro is different how??? or is it the same thing repackaged? many thanks.

I'll sell you three magnetic coins for that price

(Most 2p & 1p coins these days are attracted by magnets)

i think he means a coin that has a magnet inside it, not a coin that is attracted to magnets.

having said that, the X-Flip magnetic coin at E is US$25 ie. only round 13 pounds so 18 seems high regardless.

I did indeed mean what you say, a coin with a magnet can do superb flips, so a heads tails routine can be worked.

The prices were given as a guide, if people shop around they may get better prices.
