I sort of understand what you're saying about the different colour rope being used in the demo by Tabary and it becomming easier to follow. He's trying to create a different effect with the ropes changing in number and length whcih means that the performance requires the technique to be invisible.

What I'm looking to develop is something similar to a card morph where you change th 2 of clubs into a king of hearts - but with rope. I am looking to have a blue rope shown as a ring and a length of red rope. The ring then becomes red and the length of rope changes to blue.

If anyone knows of a similar effect could they let me know?

It will be easier if and when I work out a method

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

And so rewarding! :D

I'll definately let you know if I come across anything that will help you achieve this. Hey, if it doesn't exist and you work out a way, I guess you could market it!

Hi Costas,

A great post. I to got hte magic bug early on and at around 10 years of age was taken under the wing of Ken Brooke. Still doing it now at 58!

Nice to see Dave at the House of Magic the other day.

Hello Wizard,

Thank you for your kind words. It's good to see another living example of how addictive the bug to entertain people by achieving the inexplicable can be! Which is proof that performing magic is not just a passing fad but can be a weapon that can follow you for the rest of your life, giving you the ability to amaze people and put a smile on their faces at a moments notice.

Regards,

Costas
