Anyone has this effect that like to give some input on it.

Effect - The magician grabs his pinkie finger and visually shrink it. The weird stumpy thing is shown both sides and can even move a little. Then with a pull, the finger stretches back to its normal state. Finger can be examined.

Method - The method is really simple, based on Meir Yedid's Shrinking Finger routine. Takes a little practice to get it down smoothly and make the moves natural

Gimmick - Kind of hard to make, I don't mean to use during performance, what I mean is it's kind of hard to get the gimmick to match your finger.

Angles - the angles are not great, but you have about 120 degrees.

Reactions - The reactions are great, some people freak out and really finds the weird stumpy shrunked finger disturbing. If you perform this smoothly, they won't figure it out.

Overall it's a pretty goos trick, but preparations is a little tricky.

8/10

don't just say that. though your opinions are valid, it would be nice to hear any reasons why you consider it a waste of money? does it not fit your performance style? do you find it hard? is the gimmick expensive to buy/build? you can see where i am coming from here ;)

Surely it is the effect that matters, not how it is done. If you think the outcome is worth it then, so long as the method is doable, you should have complaints about the cost.

Well. You're looking at it from a method point of view. David said that it gets good reactions - that is what you should be basing its worth on - what your AUDIENCE think of it and not what YOU think of the method.

Yeah I get you. But I guess it all depends on the presentation. In your hands it might not work, but in someone else's it might really take off, just as you might be able to pull off an effect that someone else can't really well.

I guess it's all about finding what works for you, really.
