Thins to do when you're 30+ on a Friday

Postby Rdw1971 » May 19th, '06, 21:55

Just realised Im getting old, spent most of early Friday night filming myself doing some magic, and playing about with windows movie maker.

Whats that all about!

Why dont I want to go and get pie eyed anymore?

Why do I like quiet pubs when I do go out?

And why do I want to be home in bed by midnight

I wanna be 21 again!!

Lol ... dont feel too bad my friend .. i AM 21 .. and i've just spent my evening in a quiet pub having business meeting and now arived home to pop online and check my email! .. whats THAT all about lol.

I'm more of a saturdays kind of person anyway... lol ... then i'll really go crazy, off to a moderatly busy pub, maybe even have THREE pints, thats right, t-h-r-e-e ... then crawl home on my hands and knees at closing time, about 11pm .... then sleep all night! ... crazy! lol

Im 20 and a student, i dont have the money to get 'pie eyed' because i spend all my money on food and rent. I occassionally have the money to go out for a night, and have to make the most of it, so i find the nearest wetherspoons so i can afford to have 10 pints to the tenner instead of 4 like in the nice quiet pubs.

I suppose it could be worse - I could still be a student. (At least I had a grant back then!)

Oh well - off to bed, and hopefully my next supply of CUPS cure will arrive with the postie in the morning.

Quiet pubs are perfect for practicing or testing out new ideas. Bar staff who have nothing better to do and chilled friends are good for testing new ideas - it's why I go out for lunch on a Saturday and don't come back until Dr Who has finished (the Daleks, you know...). And being in bed by midnight is a Very Good Idea, too. In fact, if you're not, call a taxi immediately and go straight home.

Lol ... I'm not buying the poor student act at all. I opted not to bother with Uni but the rest of my friends are scattered all over the country on different campus.

They're always pleeding poverty, yet i know for a FACT that they go out every night of the week to the union bar and get pi**ed, then come home late, lay-in until midday, missing several lessons, decide thier hungover so wont do any lessons in the afternoon iether, then back down the pub in the evening ... and repeat!!! lol

Then its always a mad scramble at the end of term to complete all the work they havnt done.

Go on, admit it, you know I'm right lol

Im never hungover, im just too lazy, and confirm this by realising it while im lying in bed all day thinking about it.

Me

Postby Piers » May 23rd, '06, 16:35

... Ok, so I'm 40, 2 children, and the only time I get to go out is when the children have ( yet another ) party to attend.

But ... I take solace in the fact that I still find oddly shaped carrots in the supermarket amusing.

( oh, and sausages too ).

Piers.
