Hi Mini,

Just watched your vid and here are some thoughts.

I think you should show the hole in the top closer to the camera and not show it resealed until the can has expanded. that way it is more puzzling, to me anyway.
Also your handling at the beginning needs to be more casual and lighter, the can looked suspect because of your actions.
Maybe use a smaller glass as well, the fuller the end glass looks the fuller the can looks as well.

Good work though and keep at it old bean.

Not bad, although the sealing was done too far from the camera and looked as if you were using too much cover. From my knowledge of how the trick works I'm guessing this was more to do with the difficulties of filming yourself though. Also when I do it I do the seal after the heal but whatever works for you I guess. And try not to shake the can so much, I know it's annoying because the trick can take too long otherwise but it comes with practise, like everything else in life. Overall good, if I didn't know how it was done and you showed me in person I'd be impressed.

Although I've rarely used it, I do know the secret. I think that the danger should be countered by good patter and routine.

Prepare your trick, then place it strategicaly in a bin, wait by the bin till a fool passes by and BLAMM...... don't bother with all that drinking the contents first. The convincer is the bin!

If you do need to shake the can more than you'd like to - I'd suggest maybe you could try waving your other hand over the can making magical gestures of some kind. If you move this hand more vigorously than the hand holding the can - it may make it look like you're not shaking the can as much, as the attention is being drawn to the hand that is not holding the can. I haven't actually tried this - it's just a thought in case you need to shake it alot

If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

If you hold the can at the start with less fingers then it will give the impression that it is very light. So just pick it up with say your thumb and middle finger. You handled the can as if it was full, you were holding it with you whole hand as if you were to drink it. Watch David Blaine to it (there's a video on the internet somewhere) I think he does it perfectly...

Apart from the way I do it (explained above) I don't have a clue? :?

Tell him nicely you are not a "performing monkey" or say something like "I suppose you will want me to turn water into wine next", Oh and don't even think about "Fish and bread" It might get a laugh, allthough I am not sure in your country?

I saw the david blaine version and it was great

a friend at school is going to bring me an empty can to prove to him that its not a camera trick
what to do ?

This other problem you are having with people asking you to do it. Did you show them the video first? If you showed them this video then they will naturally not believe it. You should have waited to do it in person, with a 'random' can, then they would have believed it. People will naturally presume you have set something up as it's a video.

If they ask you to do it then you could have the can prepared and then grab an empty can and force the prepared can.

But really this problem could have been avoided. This is a lesson for you!

I don't think you should ever show any videos to your friends again, especially this one guy!

Can't.... stand...more.... Black Eyed Peas! ;)!
I think that every usefull advice have been given on the handlgin, so I'll move right on the moral lesson:
Don't ever claim (or show by a video) that you can do such unbelievable stuff to your friends! As Mahoney says, it's only human nature to bring you emptied can to you so you can refill them!
Healed and Sealed is an effect mostly based on the surprise of :"Oh my god, what is he doing with this empty can? No, it ain't sealed now! OH MY GOD IT'S REFILLING ITSELF!!!"
If you already tell them that you can fill an empty can, their reaction will smaller... (And this, my friend, is a basic princip of magic, do never reveal the effect before it happens, let the spectator discover himself the magic)
