Help! Brain fade has happened...

Postby MagicAL » May 22nd, '06, 21:22

Chaps,
I have just realised this evening that I have not picked up a pack of bikes for over a month! I used to always have a pack with me, and practiced at every opportunity, but I have now got a new job where I have to work for a living!

I realised this evening, that I am a bit rusty at handling cards, and this I did expect. However I have started to forget effects that I have learnt already. Sleights etc are not a problem, but I need to establish a new practice regime.

I used to devote all my spare time to practice, but this is no longer possible, so I really want to ask if anyone knows an effective practice regime? Or any advice as to remembering set ups etc for effects? Any advice at all in fact!

Use a journal. As you learn something new, write it down. This way, you have a solid copy of what you know. I need to get started on mine actually. LOL

Al,

The same has happened to me since starting a proper job. My practise has suffered, and worse still, I haven't posted as much on TM!

If you come up with a solution, let me know. At the moment I grab a deck of cards whilst watching TV at night, and go through the basics. I figure if I keep these up to scratch, I can learn routines when I have a better schedule.

I don't have any more ideas at the moment, though the idea of a journal seems like a good one!

Speak soon!

Aye, me too.

My coin roll has improved no end as I sit at my desk rolling one but I have far fewer oportunities to perform where I am now than I did at uni so everything has got rusty.
