I love the first effect on DP..

Ive been practicing this for a few days now and the routine is so smooth. This DVD is packed with some really strong magic and mentalism. I think Im starting to see mentalism as a much stronger arsenal now, might have to dig out Corinda and actually start reading it!!

www.youtube.com/brum2redmagic !! Youtube Project started.. early days

Reading: Nothing right now

I'm sorry, but I do feel that many people are missing the fact that a huge majority of the tricks do take advanced card moves (Such as the pass, and tenkai palms etc). And also, I felt that a lot of this magic was suitable for parlour performance (You at a table and the audience on the other side of the table).

MOST of the material isn't suitable for tablehopping, Weddings, Stage, or impromptu magic etc. It really is mainly for parlour (Due to a heavy use of L***ing!) If this last comment in brackets is too much, mods please just remove this bit! (Message from Mods: A few asterisks and it's sorted!)

I respect Derren a lot, and he has put together a video that represents his act that he has left behind. The places he worked, these tricks work. And in a tremendous way. However, I found myself watching the video's performances, then forward winding over the explanation etc, because A- I knew the secret (You can't misdirect a camera!)

And B:- MOST of the magic isn't useful in the situations I have been in, or am ever likely to be in. From time to time, yes, this provides great routines. But for the everyday working pro, forget it.

I have to agree with mallmagician since a lot of the magic effects are not suitable in a lot of scenarios. But I have to say I was completely satisfied with the 2nd half of the DVD as it teaches you how to do what you say you're doing. To read peoples signals and manipulating them into choosing the card that you want. This isn't the right choice if you're a beginner in magic, but if you (like i did) want some great mentalist card effects this is perfect!

i purchased this a while back off of darrens website. Not for the card magic but for the mentalism nlp(neural linguistic programming) techniques for manipulating spectators to a state where i feel comftable doing complicated and daring sleights. This was definatly a great buy ive learned so much from this. The second disc alone was worth the buy, wich seems to be the general feel i get from most people who have seen it:)

is this the only instructional dvd/video darren has released??
