Double back card price

Postby sleightlycrazy » May 25th, '06, 04:58

Hi everyone,
I've been wanting to order double backed cards for a while (got some Sankeymagic dvds that have cool ideas) and I was wondering about the cost. At ellusionist (I live in CA, so they ship very fast for me), they sell DB's for 7.50 dollars. This may seem like a dumb question, but is it a whole deck or just one card?
Thanks

Hi,
Penguin do a deck of double back bicycle cards for $4.95
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=694
I have not ordered from the USA site but have ordered these from the UK/Europe site and I recieved a whole pack so I am assuming the USA site provide a full deck.

MJM do them for $5.70
http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/double-ba ... -1837.html

When ever I have got them in the UK I have always recieved a full deck, maybe someone some one could say if they have found this in the USA?

Also, if you do not need a full deck have you thought of getting a pack of mixed fakes
http://www.magicbox.uk.com/exec.php/pro ... il/00518//
In this deck you'll find 52 (Bicycle stock) mixed fakes. A selection of DF, double backed, blank backed, blank faced and double blank cards...
The above may be an option if you only need a few and it also gives a selection of other cards to mes about with or make your own tricks with.
Hope this is of some help.

I have the mixed deck and it's very nice... most tricks only require one gaff card and there's no point buying a whole deck. I even got some 'novelty' cards like a 3 1/2 of spades and a 'broken' 5H.

Whilst some tricks require one gaff card, if you have a deck of different gaffs that can be used for the same trick then You can show a trick and say, produce the 5 of diamonds and next time you perform it you could in theory produce a totally different card. There may be some tricks where this would work in principle and others when it won't.

I bought Club Sandwich some time ago an paid around £7.00 for one gaff card and the secret. Only problem is that you can't get the gaffs separetely (well I've not been able to find them). I was surprised when buying a double face deck that it came with five of these gimmicked cards - what a result!

for less than $5 dollars I would recomend buying a deck rather than one card, which would probably cost you half as much. You never know how surprised you may be.
