For me it has to be Jay Sankey's Beyond secrets. I got mine from http://www.magicshop.co.uk/product_info ... ts_id=1347.

A collection of random thoughts, but everyone one a gold mine. Takes a lot longer to read and digest than its small size would suggest, and covers everything from misdirection to stage craft for close up magicians and everything in between ... even includes stuff about human beings (no, really!)

Its not a 'how to' but goes behind the magic. For me, one of the best bits is when he talks about the spec and magician being 'co-creators' in the magic. Even better it can be read more than once and you still won't get all of it.

So its small, has loads of stuff to think about, and needs more than one reading to get the most out of it. Should save on luggage space ... ;-)
