colour change angle

Postby shadowmask » May 31st, '06, 00:08

i am currently working on some sleights such as the snap change and some other nifty color changes, however i like to perform at school/parties etc when there are often a semi circle of people. Are there any tips/books on how to do more angle proof card changes?

The two most angle-proof ones that I know of and use regularly include Marc deSouza's Shape Shifter Change (available on a DVD from Ellusionist) and the Erdnase Colour Change, which is detailed alongside some others in Expert at the Card Table.

The Ego change by Daniel Garcia works well with a good 3/4 of a semicircle!

I avoid the snap change and use the Erdnase Colour Change instead. I find, with the snap change you must be face on in order for them not to see it.
Its annoying though, its a nice, clean move otherwise.

I dont do alot of cards but thats the colour change i use when needed.

The flip change (I think it's called that anyway) is totally angle proof and very visual. Easy to set up and do after 30 minutes practice getting the 'feel' of it, having said that it really helps to be taught it in person. Having said that so does any technique. Oh I give up, I know what I mean.

Bronz, I think you mean Shapeshifter right? Erdnase is probably most practical besides shapeshifter- I personally prefer it over shapeshifter. Shake-change is another alternative to shapeshifter and if you do it once, people seem to be pleased. Another option, albeit more difficult is using side steal from flipped card at bottom.. I can't do it but it seems great for semi circles :D

Top change could work but otherwise, I like using the Shapeshifter (so that's what it's called. LOL)

darn my lack of technical know how, both of move names and computers! If only I was cleverer I'd pop a vid on tinterweb so you could see what I mean. I saw a video in File Sharing which I'm sure was titled shapeshifter but the guy waved his hand over a card on a table and it changed. The one I'm thinking of requires two hands to do.

The table top change is called Eidetic change (At least from this guy's site: http://denisbehr.de/colourchange.html ).. I think. I believe Sankey teaches it in Sankey 45. you should check the link out anyway cuz he's just amazing to watch! :D
