Im going! Driving there on Wednesday and camping in the slums till Monday! Im going for the music, but staying for the experience and atmosphere!

If you are going, which bands would like to see the most?

Im looking forward to Metallica, Guns n Roses, Tool, Korn, Funeral for a Friend, Trivium, Coheed and Cambria, 36 Crazyfists, The Prodigy, and any other bands i can possibly cram into the time!!

Damn you! They are the eaxt bands that i'd go there for but didn't get tickets :( Well, have a great time and I'm sure it'll be as awesome as always, shame Slipknot aren't there this year to get everyone in a moshing frame of mind.

The prodigy are awesome live. Still the best live act I have ever seen. As I always tell my 3 year old when he bounces on the bed "Lets go mental"

Have a blast!

I was going to go...but couldn't :(.

Still, catching Trivium at the NEC with Iron Maiden, so that goes some way towards making up for it.

I used to go when it was the one day 'Monsters of Rock' but have not been since it changed. The last 'Donnington' i went to was when KISS headlined

Just to let you know this was an awesome festival! In my eyes, Metallica were the best, but i saw many of the other bands as well! It made the festival for me when Enter Sandman came on. They also played the entire Master of Puppets album along with a few other songs, but unfortunately, nothing off St Anger which i was a bit peeved with.

Gun n Roses were good but after technical difficulties forced them off stage and the Bassist threw a strop and chucked his guitar at a cameraman, i lost interest pretty fast. Apparently they managed to pull it back at the end but i was way to drunk by then to care.

The Prodigy were good but i only stayed for the first two songs. About 5000 people tried to pile into the tiny little tent and many people came out after being overcome with dust or bleeding severely from various orificies. There were also people that climbed up onto the support beams for the tent and, though i wasnt there to see this, there was about 20 people on each one at the end. I couldnt even see the stage for the dust so we went to GnR instead.

Other bands worth mentioning? Well Stone Sour were amazing although they didnt play Bother which is my favourite song.

Korn's lead singer was sent to the hospital so singers from other band joined in to help them out and they put on a awesome show. Corey Taylor was one of them, the lead singer of Trivium was another.

Unfortunately i missed Trivium because i felt like i was going to collapse from sunstroke.

Bullet for my Valentine were great but aparently they didnt play very well. Having only heard one of their songs before, i didnt notice.

Saw a bit of Cradle of Filth, he was complaining about apples being thrown at him instead of bottles of p*** which was funny!

Saw a couple of less known bands too. The best of these was Bleeding Through. Considering they only had a 30 minute slot, they proved to me that their album is worth buying. Also Throwdown were good, as were Darkest Hour.

Mystery Band this year was Down. I only arrived half way though but what i saw i liked so im happy!

If anybody else went, would be interesting to hear who you went to see and your opinions on the performances!

Thanks, Rich
