The new Star Trek film has been reported. The surprise for me is that Matt Damon is the lead role playing Captain Kirk. The movie is about Kirk and spock's early days at the academy. I think that Matt is a rather strange choice for the role. Any Star Trek fans on here that would care to comment.

Shouldn't Kirk be, you know, fatter?

Wasnt he fairly slim in the old days though? I dont think Matt Damon will have quite the same flare as William Shatner did as Kirk, but i may go to see it, even if just for a laugh!

I think Kirk was always quite a porker but the thing I remember most about the original series was that they all looked very sweaty. It must be very warm on the Enterprise, so you'd think they'd be allowed to at least take their jumpers off!

They were probably always sweaty because they actually COULDNT take their jumpers off!

It should be quite funny to see. I think they are filming now.
