Flash Advice

Postby themagicwand » Jun 27th, '06, 23:09

I would love to incorporate a bit of flash action into my performances. In particular I have a great idea that I would to love to bring to fruition. I have a punter take a pice of tissue paper and "scrunch" it up. I then switch it for a scrunched up piece if flash paper. I hold the paper in the open palm of my hand, get the punter to concentrate on it, and flash! The paper goes up like whoosh, thereby proving that I have unearthed a latent psychic ability in them.

Trouble is I need an easy and reliable way of igniting flash. I have used flash paper in the past, but have used either matches or one of those cumbersome TT with flint attachement to ignite. Is there an easier way?

Ideas / recomendations heartily welcomed! :D

Hi Stephen - thanks for your reply. What would you recommend I try using? Is the hand flasher suitable for the idea I have?

There are several options here. You could use a finger flasher, this is very small and easy to hide or ditch. Or you could try the hand flasher on a pull.

Neither of those devices are going to enable you to ignite a ball of Flash paper on your open palm without it being noticed. I'm not sure how you would manage it. :?

Paul,

I could help you out on the instant ignition if the paper was in a dish or challis !! But not in the hand.
