something annoying yet might be useful...

Ok, ive always had a good bodyclock, i always wake up 5 minutes before my alarm is due (even if set at different times from day to day). And recently ive been keeping tabs on an offshoot of it...

At least 10 times a day (every day) i glance at a clock, be it on my mobile, on my wrist, p.c. or the wall only to see it click onto the next minute within a second of me glancing at it...

Its vary rare that it doesnt happen. Its averaged out that only 2 other times/looks each day that it doesn't occur. It's not as if clicks over as i look and therefore draw my eye to the clock on a subconcious level...it always goes - >i wonder what time it is>look at a clock>59th second>clicks over....

so at the moment, im trying to think of a little effect i could maybe use for it...hmmm...

and yes, its happened once whilst i've been typing this message... :!:

That is accurate. Have you kept a log of the times it doesn't happen too, for comparison?

yep...

on average (during the week):
look at the time: 15 instances
clicking onto the next minute: 13 (rounding up)

it happens even if im watching a film, i glance down at the video clock, the next second...click...a new minute...

Its particularly annoying in the middle of the night, if i get a text and open my phone...click...it happens again...

i think it might be down to a game i used to play as little child, i'd set a stop watch off and try and stop it again at exactly a minute...

not sure of ways to use it for effects.. I am also quite good at keeping track of times even if I haven't looked at a clock in some time....I was a chef for many years, and this was an invaluable skill; how long something has been cooking etc.
I dont wear a watch, but if someone asks the time, I always have a guess and am usually spot on or within 5 minutes or so even if i haven't seen a clock in an hour or more.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

I'm alwas interested in that thing where you look at the second hand of your watch, and it seems to stretch the second before it moves onto the next second. It's because your mind tricks you into thinking you've been looking at the second hand, even when you're eyes were moving towards it.

If you can do this it would be cool and I'm sure it could be used in a trick of sorts. However:

There is a wireless signal from a transmitter (possibly in Rugby?) that is used by many electronic clocks to synchronise with the accurate time. Perhaps your brain is sub-conciously tuned into that transmitter.
