I'm now adding Anger to the list of reasons not to push the button. i recently wrote out a post went to push sumbit then realised i'd been offensive basically just through anger and had made a comment that was completely unjust. you know, somethings can upset you to the point of saying things you don't mean.
saying this, i think i'll leave for a bit and come back when i've calmed down.

[thinks]
[hits sumbit]

Have I made an idiot of myself? Am I over-reacting? Am I casting pearls before swine and it simply isn't worth my time?

If you've made a review, or a critique, do you re-read and consider the impact?

Yes. My latest review hasn't been posted because I wanted to think about it!

Do you purposefully create posts for reaction, and just hit submit without playing out the consequence?

No.

Do you read through your post to see if it's coherent and sensible, let alone legible and gramatically correct?

Yes, but I think everyone makes typos and the best spell-checker won't spot it all (not that I use one).

Do you post for the sake of posting, and just hit 'submit' without thought, ethics, guilt or pride?

I think you guys know the answer to this one.

I think some of the spammers are just trying to get a large number of posts in the vain hope that this will get into the restricted areas. Others haven't even got that much reason behind them.

the "edit" button is a good friend of mine. without it many of my posts would be very controversial...

Although you may not believe it from many of my posts, I am a writer, so the idea of re-reading and editing what I have written fills me with dread! I always glance over what I've written in a post, and sometimes even go back and change things. Once or twice I've even just deleted the post and not bothered to send it.

On a forum such as this I believe there is a certain etiquette that should be followed - if we want to discuss these topics with others we should at least make our meaning coherent, and our sentences legible. That said, I am probably one of the worst ones on here for submitting posts that seem to ignore all this etiquette! Mainly this is laziness, of course, but mainly it's the fact that I hate - HATE! - editing. I know I often suffer from a case of "typing diarrhoea", where I know what I'm typing is utter nonsense but just cannot seem to stop myself anyway... and I know when this comes over me - and I'm really trying to hold my "bowels" right now - I should definitely re-write most of the words I've put on the page...

But as I say, I Hate editing.

I think the reason I posted this is simply to apologise for them submissions, and to explain to you why I do it.

From now on, I'm going to become king of the one-line submission. After this post, of course. :)

See? One-liners. This is my 40th post. Get in. Does your member status go up due to number of posts?

I am now feeling very embarassed.
I have just sent a couple of PM's to someone, explaining what I had copied into them.

I had forgotten to actually paste it in though!

Lesson learnt. I almost always do view, but it just shows you how much of an idiot you can look if you don't check.
