is it really Guns and roses without Slash. For me he made the band. I saw them play at monsters of rock (you know it as download now) with the original line up

One of my mates saw them at Graspop in Belgium. To quote him

"It isn't Guns N Roses anymore. It's just 'Axl Rose and Co.'" :(

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

BFMV aren't just for emos you know! I certainly ain't no emo but I saw them at Kerrang...still bands like Still Remains were supporting though so it was all good anyway!

Not a big fan of Guns and Roses myself, especially not since the Download incidents.

to be honest, now slash is in velvet revolver I dont rate him as much - doesnt seem to have the same energy anymore. And guns n roses died when he parted company

One of my regular gigs is at a pub/restaurant next door to Sheffield Arena. Last night GnR were playing at the Arena, and I was working in the pub keeping the punters happy before they went to see the gig. They were a strangely unreceptive bunch of punters - far too much testosterone flying around. The best crowd I ever worked at this particular pub was when Take That were appearing. Loadsa ladies in pink cowboy hats. It was lovely.

As for GnR (or rather Axel & the session musicians), I heard mixed reports. Some said it was brilliant, some said it was rubbish.

Well, in terms of new stuff.. they could be awful. But with the older songs.. as long as Axl still has his voice and the new guitarist can play as good as slash then I'll enjoy it. Yeah, i know its not REALLY GnR.. but I'm going for the live music and atmosphere.. not to see slash :D

When Appetite for Destruction came out mumblety years ago, I played it to death. I don't think there's a duff track on it. A classic.

I think My Michelle or Rocket Queen, even as album tracks, blast it out of the water

Is Buckethead still the lead guitarist for GnR, or did Axl replace him?

From the M.E.N Arena site:

You can be sure Axl Rose and band mates Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Robin Finck (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboard), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Brain (drums) and new guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (who has only been in the band for two weeks!) will burn through Guns N' Roses classics such as "Welcome to the Jungle," "Paradise City," "My Michelle," "Mr. Brownstone," "November Rain" and "Sweet Child O' Mine." as well as tracks from the upcoming new album, Chinese Democracy
