Key-coin transposition

Postby bronz » Jul 20th, '06, 12:12

Hey y'all, here's another quick trick from me. It's got a bit of patter this time but it's still filmed in cameraphoneovision.

I haven't seen anything like this round here recently, enjoy and critique.

Hmm, no replies as yet. I reckon that means it's either really good or really bad. Come on peeps, what's it to be?

Oh dear, could be the quicktime thing again. I can't compress my phone videos to wmv format which is the standard for putfile I believe. I'll see if I can get a youtube account up and running.

Ok then, here's the youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kBLxNhoOFA

Very nice indeed! Only bit I would suggest is work a teeny little bit on the dump out of the One Pound Coin at the end.

Hey thats pretty nice. Just in case your wondering, that is on Jay Sankey's Revoluntionary Coin Magic DVD. A piece of advice-this is not just for the trick, but for life in general- always, ALWAYS remember to properly dress yourself. :D And of course work on your angles of dumping the coin out at the end- a slight tilt of the wrist will do it

Matt

Fan of Sankey, are we? I use this trick all the time. I love it. And you did it justice. Very nice job. Well done.

Thanks,

Aah cheers guys! Yes I did get it off Revolutionary Coin Magic, I've been practicing push button too I'll post a vid of that soon.

The dump does need work I agree, I found the first move quite tricky to get the hang of but I guess the dump looks a little contrived there. I also slightly fumbled when the key came through my fingers as I smacked my hand down but I decided to leave it as was because I think it adds to the illusion, it's such a nice visual change.

As for my clothing, I'm a free spirit me, I'm not gonna bow down to the fascist Trinny and Susannah regime imposed by mass media and misplaced out of date sensibilities! Also it's been in the mid 30s here all week, I was evaporating at a rate of knots.

lol I know, its been really hot where I live too. And your right, the first move is hard, and Sankey slightly over uses in my opinion on the DVD. Nonetheless, tie upthe loose ends and thats ready for performance.

Cheers Delude :D I've done this for a couple of people now and it's baffled them. The move is overused by Sankey I think, in fact he seems to have a core of about 5 sleights that constitute the majority of his effects. The problem you then have is that you can only do a couple of them without people catching on. Oh well.

Yeah that was really nice and quite different to what we normally see up here. Is that revolutionary coin dvd worth getting then? don't normally like Sankey's stuff but that looked great, and if there's more of the same quality it might be worth a look.

so yeah, really good matey.

It depends. There's been a lot of criticism of the Rev coin magic DVD because of the way Sankey acts in it. If you don't like Sankey'd DVD's because of Sankey, then you'll despise this one. Sankey makes fun of Christianity, an example would be using Jesus Christ as a form of abracadabra 'The power of Christ compels you, the power of Christ compels you!!!' As well as that, there is a lot of profanity. But if you can grit your teeth and ignore Sankey, themn yes, theres alot of valuble information on that DVD.

I agree Matthew, I'm not religious myself but I was brought up to be and I did wince at some of the blasphemy. Other than that the DVD is excellent and has a lot of useable material. Plus for some reason it teaches the hundred dollar bill switch (not coins but what the hey). Many of Sankey's moves are a bit off the beaten path but no less effective for that, it's well worth a look for any level of coin work.
