Wich RRTCM version would you buy if you could only buy one of these two?

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Anyone actually have the link to the 5 disc version? I'm not gonna buy it but am curious about it.

And yes, I don't like Magic Makers at all... I wouldn't suggest buying their products honestly just because of a) Rob Stiff is not a good magician (or card manipulator in "Showoff with Cards") and b) teaches you the wrong techniques (e.g. Charlier Cut with the middle finger which will cause severe cramps!!).

Just for what I have noticed in the past, It is a lot easier to learn something when you see it being done, I have borrowed a copy of The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks, and was half lost reading how to learn sleights. However I received an em@il from www.magictricks.co.uk and with it a video of how to do about 5 or 6 different sleights. I have a good idea on how to do it now, just need to practice A LOT.

DVD through and through.

I was just wondering if it's better to do this instead of buying RRTCM 5 dvd's. (around 80$)

- Buy RRTCM e-book (rly cheap price)
- Buy Born To Perform Card Magic by Oz ( *Great beginner dvd*)

DO NOT get the E-Book spend the little extra and get the real book. Its sooooooooooo much better actually having a book in your hands and learning from it like that and you can take the book anywhere you go.

Books all the way :D :D :D :D :D

It sometimes is easier to understand if you watch someone doing a trick rather than reading about how to do it in a book but if you keep going over and over it you will get it in the end.

I personally find learning from books the best way for me, because i find you can take all the time needed to learn the sleight/trick and i find verbal descriptions which i can visulise more effeicent that watching. However i do own quite a few magic DVD's however i have that i barly used them and that i read all my magic books more.

But thats me everyone is diffrent :D :D

Well thats how you prefer to learn becuase i have disproven your statement becuase i find it a lot easier to learn from books as opposed to DVD's. (But i do recognise that a lot of people prefer to learning from DVD's however my point is that you should genralise it just to suite your 'principles')

You have to realise jsut becasue its the way you do somthing, (in this case learn) it dose not mean that it applies to everyone. If you care to notice that i have put thats the way I perfer to learn and i think you should do the same.

Got it

I apologise if it came across as 'You must learn by DVD and not by books', It wasn't ment like that. If you did notice how I did put it, I did say I quite a lot as in I find it easier.

Oooh handbags at dawn ladies!

I'd say get the book because it's much cheaper. If you don't get on with it too then get the dvds, or maybe get them later when you can afford it.

I prefer to learn from dvd too but I purposely bought RRTCM and Bobo as books because they're so much cheaper and I can browse through them at any time. There's so much material that I can't be bothered navigating any one of 5 different dvd menus to find what I want.

Ok I think I will go for the RRTCM book. There's 2 different version of it: The Old one and the New one. I just wanted to know if theres a difference between those two ( new thing or update) . If no, I will go for the old one because it got a more beautiful cover :P
