Actually, if you want to learn a less biased history of the system check out this site... http://www.museumoftalkingboards.com/WebOuija.html I've spent days on this site there's so much to be found.

Whatever you do, don't turn it into a cheap bit of business by making things look like a "trick".

Hi again. I'd love to get hold of a copy of DB's seance. Anyone have a copy to spare? Pretty please??? :D

Craig - I assure you that in no way will I cheapen the seance & ouija board into looking like a trick. I shall be playing it completely "straight". My guests have been informed beforehand that all effects will be created using "conjuring" techniques, but on the night all will be serious and no mention will be made of sleight-of-hand, ideomotor functions, etc.

Thanks as always for all the feedback.

it's called a planchette (the little dohickey that you move around)...

if you ever want an in-your-hands effect, try wee-ja from blackartifacts...very good indeed...

as for themes/ideas, (though this is more suitable to slate work i suppose) is to maybe get a revelation wrong, and have yourself be corrected by the ouija later on...

maybe tie it in with a book test at some point instead? maybe make contact with the author via the ouija? if you could incorporate a photo too of the author, the ouija could tell you to open the frame and it would have the word scrawled on the back?
