Basic Card Question

Postby Dirty Davey » Aug 1st, '06, 09:09

Ok I know this is a really dumb ass question, but what is the difference between poker and bridge cards? And which are easier to work with? I've been using ordinary WH Smiths cards, any idea if they're poker or bridge?

Sorry for the stupid question

Poker cards are larger than bridge cards and most magicians tend to use poker size. Bridge size cards used to be the most popular in the UK up untill the recent boom in poker on tv. If you have very small hands the bridge size might be easier to use.

Poker cards are about 6.2cm x 8.7cm in dimension

I hope this helps you out.

Ok that's great cheers.

Just wondering as all the tricks and gimick cards out there seem to be poker sized bicycle cards so will need to get a couple of decks.

I always get a few decks of regular poker size bikes, as I seem to wear them out after a few weeks.

I have some Ghosts and Black Tigers and both of the accompanying gaff decks. My regular bikes are usually blue, just because I prefer the blue colour. I also have a blue stripper deck and I am thinking about a Ghost and Black Tiger stripper, mainly because people are used to me using the regular versions of these cards. I hope that made sense and helped a little.
