Thats cool. Well I'm still shocking myself and not realising that I just linked two pop tabs or made a coin change. I seriously cannot feel a coin leave my hand when I use my black widow. Its that cool.

So, six months after the last post, is anyone still using the BW? Or has it been consigned to the drawer? Your opinions would be appreciated as I am considering making a purchase.

Postby Thewayniac » Aug 9th, '07, 08:54

Hi Guys

I would just like to say that mine too is collecting dust, cant think of when i could use this in the real world, i must admit i havnt even practised with it much, i will give it another crack but i think i shall be selling soon. good method though, but i prefer rolling my sleeves up after using a raven for example.

Sold mine after about four months.

I liked what it could do, but just found it too darned big to be discrete or real world practical.

Hi,
I'm a cardician and I like most of all gambling demonstrations. Is it possible with this prop to switch cards at your hand during a poker game ?

If it's not this the right device, do you know where i can find anything as a hold out ?

thx

yea dude go to www.richardturner52.com

pick up his dvd "the Cheat"

you'll see all sorts of sleight of hand, wayyyyyy better than using a big bulky contraption to accomplish the same thing.

that said I'd sure think it was cool to play around with one of these but for $250, yea, thats a lot of decks of cards lol

Question

Postby indianmagi » Jan 31st, '08, 02:57

Hi guys and gals,

I used to support myself doing magic throughout high school. I just finished college, and I'm working full time. I'm usually really interested in the Black Widow, especially that effect where he changed one card into I'm guessing his own business card. Talk about networking tool! I'm wearing a blazer or suit jacket on almost a daily basis, so I'm wondering...is this trick a right fit for me? Can I take off my jacket as I please? Thanks for your input, as this is a big investment as you all know.

Particularly for having a card loaded, you'll need fairly long arms to ensure concealment as Widow + card is pretty lengthy.

If you're wearing a Widow, you're not able to freely and publicly put your jacket off and on as you please.

hmm i c...thanks for your input, I guess I can't know for sure if it'll be practical for me or not until I actually try it. I am about 6 ft tall, but my arms aren't especially long. In the vids it seems that the sleeve is almost pinned to his wrist, which of course only magicians would notice, but still... thanks again!

Right now you can get one on ebay for $120.00.

But, let me tell you, once you have one and you realize how bulky it is, how it isn't usable in all situations, the fact that in the real world it has too many issues, the fact that the jaws can be glitchy and a myriad of other problems that will crop up, it will be consigned to a drawer and maybe, just maybe, you too can sell it on ebay and try to recoup some of your lost dosh.

You want to change a regular playing card into a business card? Learn a snap change and a gambler's cop. There's everything you need. Sure, it's a bit "angley" but it sure beats the hell outta spending money on something you'll use half a dozen times and give up, being up to $250.00 poorer (but wiser...Maybe being wiser is worth $250.00).

Mike.
