My ambitious card

Postby cordenadam » Aug 4th, '06, 00:06

As my favourite effect, i make up different ambitous card routines on a regular basis, and now i think i have come up with the best soo far, here it is:

1. Picked card put back into deck appears at the top

2. card it left pretruding out of the deck then put into the middle and returns to the top.

3. Again card put back into the centre of the deck face up, then doing an erdnase change comes back to the top

Then i return the card to the middle of the deck, and do card on ceiling.

I think this is a very good versitile routine, the only thing wrong with this one could, it is missing a step,.

And ideas much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

I think the step you are missing is having the card appear on top while the deck is in their hand. This is a very strong moment and magic in people's hands is always a sure fire way to get a reaction.

erdnase: they are referring to the Erdnase Colour Change which is a simple but very impressive colour change that can be used to great effect in an ambitious card routine.

omni deck: the Omni Deck is a routine by Martin Sanderson (?) in which the entire deck minus the selection turns into a perspex block. Very strong climax to an ACR.

Nice - but I like to leave them with a souvenir as to what happened. That way they have something special to keep. I use my Ambitious Card Ending (a variant on a Sankey idea, it later transpired) and that way they are left with a truly impossilbe souvenir which ALSO serves as a constant reminder as to what it was that exactly happened.

But each to their own, and so long as it amazes I don't see no problem with it at all :D.

But you need confidence and timing for this ending, i have been doing the whole thing as shown on corporate close-up. A bit over the top maybe, but even i like to show-off sometimes

I don't do Omni deck, but I do do Solid Deception as a finish. Its a great finish to the ambitious card.

I was thinking the other day, wouldn't it be great at the end, to push the card half way in and then the whle deck becomes solid. They can't move their card in or out and its just stuck there and then they take the deck home with them with their card.

Now wouldn't that be good!

Ahh yes, Stephen, that was the tec-deck if I remember rightly.

Looked very cool, but I wouldn't pay £40.00 odd quid for it. Thats just me though.
